Inside Look: A Therapy Podcast
Inside Look: A Therapy Podcast
Ben Friday, LMFT
Inside Look is a podcast developed by therapists with the intent to educate and "give therapy away." It is not intended as a replacement for quality, one-on-one individual therapy. Instead, our hope is by building a better understanding of the therapeutic process, we can lower stigma around mental health and make conversations about therapy more accessible. This podcast plans on tackling a variety of therapy relevant subjects, such as what to expect when starting therapy, common concerns, deep dives into a variety of theories, and much more. We hope you will find it enlightening and that it makes introspection and openness to change more accessible.

Welcome to Episode 6! Today we will be discussing grief and loss, and how humans grieve lots of things, not just death! We will look at what makes the grieving process important, and why humans (and lots of other species too!) grieve when something we care about is gone or changing. We will also dive into what makes this process so normative and expected for every person to experience at some point in there life, which is why we don’t pathologize or look at grief as something ‘wrong’ with us or that we need to ‘fix.’ Instead, it is a natural change process that helps us grow and experience life in new and meaningful ways.
