
Hiring a coach to help motivate you is going to lead to failure. The same way that joining a program or starting a new workout program at the local gym is also going to lead to failure. Hiring a coach and joining programs can be some of the most valuable things you ever do but recognizing that a coach is NOT a motivator is REALLY important. A coach's job is to show you what to do, to know the best course to get you to your specific goals, and to help navigate the hurdles along the way. Actually doing it can ONLY come from YOU.

Metabolic and HIIT workouts continue to be effective media marketing. But what does this even mean? Nothing. These words mean NOTHING when it comes to workouts and fitness. Don't buy into the hype. People are still doing 'strength' workouts and 'cardio' workouts. This bullshit is JUST as ridiculous as the rest. There are no 'metabolic' workouts. There are no 'cardio' workouts. Human bodies JUST DON'T WORK LIKE THAT. And yes. It is important that you understand why.

Every year for the last two decades I tell people to PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not embark on a running program to lose weight, improve their health, get fit, or anything else. If you PASSIONATELY LOVE running, then by all means go for it. But that is it. It is NOT the best form of exercise, in fact it isn't even a good form of exercise.
