What comes up for you when you hear the word discipline? Does your body recoil, do you mentally start tuning out to what you hear next? I think that discipline often gets a negative connotation when it comes to understanding why it’s necessary in achieving any kind of success in our life. However, when we can reframe our minds to view discipline as freedom I think that’s when we can start to really move forward faster on achieving our goals in life. Today I’m breaking down the benefits of discipline and how to improve discipline if you find yourself struggling to stay motivated or stay committed to the outcome.
In this episode we talk about:
Discipline creates habits which creates routines which ultimately shape who you are
The benefits of discipline
How discipline can relieve procrastination
Becoming aware of the story you have around why discipline doesn’t work for you
Choosing the discomfort of growth or the discomfort of staying the same
Ways to improve your self-discipline for success

I know most of us wake up everyday wanting to feel our best. I certainly don’t remember a day I woke up wanting to feel mediocre. However, as a mom it can be increasingly more difficult to find time in the day to do all the things you want to do for yourself and your own personal goals. Something I started doing a few years ago that has been a game changer for me is this concept called habit stacking. It’s the idea of incorporating new habits into your daily routine that allow you to continue to move forward on your goals. Today I’m explaining what habit stacking is and how even small daily actions have big compound effects and how it can take the overwhelm out of wanting to make better choices without having to completely change your entire routine.
In this episode we talk about:
What is habit stacking
How small consistent actions can compound and have massive results
Why is habit stacking beneficial
Reframing your mindset on what the action towards your goals needs to look like
Taking the overwhelm out of incorporating new habits
Turning new habits into automatic thoughts

Summer is an incredible time of year. When I think of summer there’s an endless list of summertime memories- sunshine, suntans, picnics, boat days and ice cream. Honestly the list is endless. However, each passing summer there seems to be increasing amounts of societal pressure for parents to create the most epic summer experiences ever for our kids. I’ve totally been guilty of packing our summer schedule with all kinds of activities in the pursuit of creating the best summer memories (because we only have so many summers with our kids right?). However, I noticed it left me feeling overwhelmed, stressed and exhausted which is the opposite of what I envisioned for my summers. Trying to keep up with all the activities felt like more of a chore and left me yearning to stay home and relax. If you’re heading into summer already overwhelmed with the ‘to-dos’ or the ‘busyness’ of the schedule then sister this episode is for you. Don’t forget that you are in control of what kind of summer you get to create for your kids and the only thing that matters most is a mom that is rested, fulfilled and happy because that is what they will remember most.
In this episode we talk about:
Creating a memorable summer on your terms
Societal pressures that make us feel like we’re not doing enough
The overwhelm and exhaustion of summer busyness
What you can do for yourself to show up rested and present
Taking action on creating the life you dream of
Deciding if delaying joy and fulfillment is worth it to you
Missing out on experiences you want to create for yourself and your family

It’s a struggle we all face as moms, exhaustion. With motherhood comes a laundry list of responsibilities we blissfully think will get easier as our kids grow. The truth is that with each new stage of parenthood there are different challenges. There isn’t a time when there is magically less to do. We all face exhaustion at one time or another and if we allow it it will set up camp with no sign of leaving. But the good news is that we are in control of a lot of the factors that can prevent, reduce or eliminate exhaustion all together. When we are living in a state of exhaustion we are preventing ourselves from showing up as the best version of ourselves. If you truly desire to live an extraordinary life then you need to kick exhaustion to the curb, state!
In this episode we talk about:
Symptoms of exhaustion and how it presents itself
Why it’s difficult to show up as your best if you’re experiencing exhaustion
The difference between being tired and being exhausted
How to prevent or eliminate exhaustion

It’s inevitable that if you live long enough you will go through lots of ups and downs in life. There are moments where we feel stuck, sad or lonely and then there are other periods where we can’t explain our energy and enthusiasm for life. What’s helped me navigate these different phases is looking at it from a perspective of seasons- much like the four seasons of the year. Today I’m sharing how I view these seasons of life and how I embrace them as I recognize what season I’m in.
In this episode we talk about:
Viewing life’s ebbs and flows like seasons of the year
Embracing which season you’re in
Not comparing your winter season to someone else’s summer season
Knowing that you will move through each season

I think it goes without saying that we all desire healthy, fulfilling and successful partnerships in our lives. Well when you throw kids into the mix, it’s really easy to put yourself and your relationship on the back burner if you aren’t intentional about maintaining connection and communication. My guest today, Michelle Purta, really pulls back the veil on the keys to a thriving relationship and why personal self-care is vital to a sustainable partnership. If you’re looking for deeper connection and open communication in your marriage or partnership (or if you’re single then your next relationship) this is definitely the episode for you!
Michelle is a marriage coach for moms, human design enthusiast, host of The Marriage & Motherhood Podcast, and a married mom of 3.
She is passionate about helping women create the marriage of their dreams with their husbands by teaching them what they didn't get to learn from their parents like healthy communication, emotional awareness, and living life for yourself.
She helps women and couples thrive in their marriage while raising kids so they can enjoy their relationship while also modeling a healthy successful relationship for their kids to look up to.
In this episode we talk about:
Experiencing relationships for yourself and not through what you’ve witnessed from others
How conflict can be an opportunity to grow closer
Self-Care is the foundation for a sustainable relationship
Recognizing the best path forward for your partnership
The impact of positive interactions vs. negative interactions with our partner

Have you ever heard a quote or a saying that felt like a punch straight to the gut that instantly shifted your perspective on life? Well, I’ve heard several and today I’m sharing the question I first came across a few years ago that instantly changed how I was showing up for my life. It was like those magical machines at the eye doctor that you have to look through and read the letters across the room when suddenly they change the lens just right and the letters are the clearest you’ve ever seen them. This question was the lens I started to filter my life through and everything became instantly more clear when I applied my actions to this question. I find it truly incredible that our experiences in life can change instantly when we change our perspective and I hope that today’s conversation helps to give you a clearer perspective on how you’re showing up and how you want to continue building your life moving forward.
In this episode we talk about:
Circumstances in life can change instantly when your perspective shifts
Getting really clear and honest with how you’re showing up every single day
Figuring out how you want to move through life and taking action to create that reality
Are you playing to win or are you playing not to lose
Coming from a reactive, defensive place is more exhausting and overwhelming than being proactive in your actions

Last week I talked about the trick I use to take action on something I feel resistance around so if you haven’t listened to that go back and check it out, it’s a shorty but a goody. Today I’m piggybacking off of that conversation of taking action even when you don’t want to, feel like it, etc. and how when we do the things we say we’re going to do or want to do we start to build confidence in following through on what we say is important. I hope you find value in this conversation and it helps you start moving faster towards your goals and dreams for your life.
In this episode we talk about:
Being flexible and adaptable in how things get done
Taking action big or small keeps us moving forward
Building confidence and integrity with ourselves when we follow through
The ways we let ourselves off the hook in doing hard things
Noticing how we feel when we don’t do the things we say we’re going to do
Nurturing and prioritizing the relationship we have with ourselves
Work with ME!
