We All Start Somewhere (Imposter Syndrome And Self-Doubt)
Feeling stuck? Underqualified? Before you completely throw in the towel, let me ask you this question. Since when did we have to START as an expert? Like seriously? When did that become a requirement? Imposter syndrome and self-doubt can be absolutely dream-crushing.     I've got news! Unless you are LITERALLY lying or playing the game Among Us, you can't be an imposter. You can't be an imposter while you're learning. We all have to start somewhere.    What would happen if we shifted our mindset to take pride in learning instead of ashamed of it? It's amazing how far we can get if we don't let the bump in the roads turn into roadblocks.    I hope this episode will inspire and motivate you to keep going or even get started! Keep pursuing your dreams. Let the momentum of each step push you to achieve your goals.    Follow Overcoming Together On Instagram!   Want to start taking charge of your life but not sure where to start? Understanding Self-Injury With Karen Vincent - Uncomfortable Conversations
A huge part of this podcast is actively seeking to understand other people's perspectives and struggles. Even if the topic is something that is typically avoided. This episode is the first in a subseries called, "Uncomfortable Conversations."    I would like to give a trigger warning as this episode is about self-injury and may be uncomfortable or disturbing for some listeners.   I believe it's extremely important to talk about it. There are so many misconceptions about self-injury.   To help us better understand this topic, we have Karen Vincent back on the podcast! If you've been with us for a while you will remember her from episode 6, "Creating Healthy Habits." You guys loved her in that episode so I'm really excited to have her back today!   She is a licensed mental health therapist for over 20 years. She is a certified life coach and health coach. Throughout her career, she worked with many people who have struggled with self-injury as well as done intensive studies with DBT therapy as well as other extensive training.   This is one of those episodes that are important to listen to even if you yourself have never experienced this. Karen gives excellent advice on how to better understand someone in your life who is struggling with self-injury or even if you just want to educate yourself more on the topic.   If you made it this far, thank you so much! I know that these conversations can be uncomfortable but I truly believe it is crucial to have them and I applaud you for listening and educating yourself more on this topic.    New episodes are released every Thursday so don't forget to hit the follow button to be notified when they are uploaded!    Got Questions for Karen? Take The Lessons, Leave The Lies
How do we unlearn the lies we've been told? Or the lies we've told ourselves? We often attach these lies to our identities, causing us to build the foundation of our worth on sand instead of solid rock.  Can we shift our mindset around the past?  How do we forgive ourselves? I hope today's episode will help you answer those very questions as we dive into the conversation around mindset, personal development, forgiving ourselves, healing from past mistakes, and finding purpose in our pain. Without our pasts, we wouldn't be where we are today. You are strong and capable of anything!  It's time to unlearn the lies.
