Have you ever thought about your relationship with money, what you think about your ability to earn money, whether you think of yourself as being good with money, and where you have learned all the narratives about money that you believe today? This week Maria talks to Money Coach Rachelle Siebke about all things related to money, why women are traditionally taught to believe that we are "bad" with money, and how all of that ties into the various systems of oppression we all live in. A lot of us have a ton of mental and emotional baggage associated with money, and taking a closer look at the source of those money beleifs can be hugely informative and healing. Not to mention that improving our relationship with money helps make our work a lot more fun, because our emotional baggage and fears around money make a lot of our jobs super stressful. Rachelle Siebke works with women who want to be smart with their money. They want someone to show them how to manage their finances so that they can make confident decisions based on how they want their life to look and feel — not just a number in the bank. She shows them how to get more of what they want and while doing more of what they love.To get in touch with Rachelle:Website: rachellesiebke.comInstagram: rachellesiebke.moneycoachFacebook: RachelleSiebke.MoneyCoachEmail: [email protected]

This week Maria talks to Amanda Malaney, a Certified Life Coach who is also an Environmental Consulting Project Manager, about making work more fun by discovering opportunities where you are. Often when we feel stuck or burned out at work, the natural inclination could be to think about leaving. And while there is nothing wrong with changing jobs or external circumstances, there could also be a lot of opportunities wehre you are that you may be missing when you think the grass is greener elsewhere. Not to mention that, without first addressing how you relate to your work, changing your job or external circumstances will never result in you feeling better, because your old patterns of perfectionism, people-pleasing, and overworking will just follow you into your next job.Amanda Malaney is a Certified Life Coach. She has 17 years of experience working in the environmental consulting field, currently as a project manager. Amanda initially became interested in life coaching to help her manage work stress, but life coaching has improved her work life, her personal relationships, her relationship with herself, and her overall experience in the world. Amanda works with clients one-on-one to change their relationship to their work and other areas of their life where they are looking for a different experience. To get in touch with Amanda, follow her on Instagram at: https://www.instagram.com/amandamalaneycoaching/

This week Maria talks to Vanessa Hardy, who is a general life coach, archeologist, and writer, about creativity. Whether you don't identify as a creative person, but have always been intrigued by the concept of creativity, you know you are creative but don't think your work provides much of an outlet for that, or you absolutely embrace your creativity every day, this episode is for you!Creativity is something that can help make our jobs a lot easier and more exciting (and yes, this applies even if your job is to look at spreadsheets and respond to emails). Because creativity is an innate part of each of us and is what allows us to problem-solve, look at things from different perspectives, and break away from the grip of perfectionism by embracing experimentation and curiosity. To get in touch with Vanessa:Website: https://vanessahardycoaching.com/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/vanessahardycoaching/?next=%2FFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/Vanessa-Hardy-Coaching-104802614994919

This week's guest is Dr. Laura Jurgens, who is an Intimacy, Relationship and Embodiement coach. Maria and Laura talk about suppressing your emotions in the workplace, and the devastating impact that can have not only on your relationships and performance at work, but on your health and life outside of work. In most workplaces nowadays, having emotions while on the job is strongly discouraged, because we think that allowing feelings is the same as outwardly expressing them at all times (it is not!) As a result, many of us do our best to dissociate from our bodies and our feelings while on the job, thinking that makes us more professional and allows for better work-life balance. However, dissociating from our feelings harms our relationships, can be dangerous for our bodies and health, and it keeps us dissociated from the rest of our lives as well. Not to mention that it definitely does not help our performance and productivity at work. This week's guest is Siobhán Friel - a coach working with people who want freedom from overthinking, anxiety, overwhelm, and worry. Maria and Siobhán tackle the topic of self-trust. Namely, that inner knowing that we all possess that tells us when something is right for us, resonating with us, or the thing we want to be doing in a particular moment. A lot of us (especially women) have been taught that trusting ourselves to know what to do and when to do it is inherently dangerous, and we need to constantly doubt ourselves and look for external blueprints and guidance. As a result, we are terrified that if we trust ourselves and someone disagrees with our course of action, or we end up changing our minds later, that would "prove" how untrustworthy we are (so better not try in the first place!) But what if trusting ourselves is not nearly as scary as we thought, and it could make our lives and our work significantly less stressful and more fun?To get in touch with Siobhán:Website: www.siobhanfriel.com Instagram: instagram.com/siobhanfriel Inner Peace and Other Cool Shit Podcast: https://innerpeaceandothercoolshit.buzzsprout.com/

This week Maria chats with Michelle Kevill who is a coach for high-achieving corporate women who want to feel passionate about their job again. The two of them talk about how an outward image of having the "perfect" life is far from a guarantee of feeling good about yourself internally. Similarly, when it comes to getting out of the perpetual cycle of burnout and perfectionism, tackling your internal beliefs and tendencies always needs to come first. Without that internal work, external steps would always provide temporary relief at best, or will make things ever harder for you at worst. Asking for help is something a lot of us have been conditioned to think about as a last resort, and as something that may signal a lack of resourcefulness. As a result, many of us would prefer to work ourselves to exertion than deal with the mean things we would think about ourselves if we asked for help. But what if asking for help actually demonstrates emotional intelligence and resourcefulness? And sets an example to others that a better way of approaching work is possible? Willing to be vulnerable and ask for help also fosters connection with others because they now 1) get to experience the joy of being helpful and 2) know that they can be open with you in the future if/when they need help themselves. This week we talk all about asking for help at work, and how you can (and should) do it way before you reach a breaking point. And Maria shares one of her favorite mottos in life: "the only way to have your sh*t together, is by not having your sh*t together)."
