You're Lying to Yourself: How to Be Mindful of Your Mind
Have you ever stopped to think about what you're thinking about?  Seriously. Those thoughts that fill up your mind are not just fluttering butterflies passing by. They're actually bees who are looking for a flower on which to latch themselves to. Some are good and some are bad. If we're not careful, we can catch bad thoughts and allow them to take root in our minds, thus becoming our entire personality. Because our brains are malleable, constantly growing and acquiring new knowledge, we can inadvertently teach our brains to actively work against us.  But the good news is, we a can also shape our brains in to resilient muscles that can withstand pressure and weight. We can allow positive, encouraging and motivating thoughts to dig deep roots in our brains which can push us to new heights that we couldn't have dreams were possible.  So, let me ask you again, have you ever stopped to think about what you're thinking about? Because your future depends on it.  In this episode, we're stepping into a new series called You're Lying to Yourself where we will dismantle the most common lies we tell outselves week by week.  We'll set the stage by discussing how the brain can become our greatest ally or our biggest adversary. And we'll highlight the importance of taking some mental inventory regulary. Ready for it? Hit that play button.

You Need a Halftime: The Mid-Year Reset That Changes Everything
If we were to look at our year like a football or basketball game, we would be starting the second half right about now. The first half is done and whether we feel like we're winning or losing, there's still more minutes to be played. It's crucial that we huddle up and head into the lockerroom for a few minutes in order for us to have a successful second half. Because at the end of the day, the goals you've set for yourself matter.  Yeah, you remember those resolutions right? The ones you scribbled into you journal or pinned to a vision board at the beginning of the year. Those things are still worth chasing, but we've got to be strategic now that we're midway through 2026. So, in this episode we'll talk about three things that need to happen before we get back on the field. We need to review some things, renew some things and recover some things.  Are you ready to dive in? Hit that play button.

My High School Reunion Might Have Changed My Life
Recently I had the pleasure of attending my high school reunion which has a way of making you feel both old and young simultaneously.  It was just me going to this thing so I had not backup with my super cool husband to fall back on, but honestly I think going at it alone was the best option for me. I was able to engage and be present with people I hadn't seen in decades in a way I don't think I could have been with reinforcements.  I also learned a few things that I'd like to share with you today.  Now, these may be principles that you've heard before, but hearing them again, I think, can only help. So, if you will induldge me, I'd like to talk about the people, the places and the chapters of our lives that matter the most. And why stepping back in time - pausing to reflect on life gives you more drive for what lies ahead. You ready to dive in? Hit that play button!

Jesus Didn't Die For Your Screen Time
This last week, we were reminded of just how precious life is.  We watched as NASCAR racer Kyle Busch was hospitalized and then pronounced dead just hours later. What makes the whole thing so harrowing is what he said in his post-race interview just days before.  "You never know when the last one is," he said after winning yet another championship. See, we all know that life is short and tomorrow is promised to no one. Kyle's death and a day like today - Memorial Day - are reminders of that.  But are we really living like that's the case?  Many of us are watching our lives pass us by. We scroll. We binge. We bail on plans. We get comfortable sitting on the sidelines because trying takes effort and risk and time... And we just don't have the bandwidth for that.  Hey, I get it. Life is busy and overwhelming and stressful. But it's also just that -- Your life. And if you don't live it, no one else is gonna do it for you. And as Christians, we should be living the most abundant lives the world has ever seen, because that's literally what Christ came to give us - abundant life. And when you're walking with the creator of the universe, how could you not live that way? Oh, we're going there on this one. Ready?

Clock Out Before Burn Out: Why Taking Time Away Is a Must
When is the last time you took time away from work? If you can't remember, it's time to punch in for some PTO. See, your personal time off is there for a reason. No one should work through the entire year without taking a few breaks. You know it and your boss knows it.  And yet, so many vacation days go unused. In fact, there are some companies that offer unlimited PTO as an incentive knowing deep down that the majority of people won't take advantage of them. It's kind of sad, really. You know the phrase, "almost everything works better if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you"? We all nod our head in agreement, but forget to put it into practice. In this episode, we'll talk about the important of taking time away from work and the stress of everyday life. And while an extended period of rest is necessary, there are two other types of personal time we should be taking on a regular basis.  So, if you're ready to check out for a bit, hit that play button.
