Welcome back to this week’s episode of In My Truth loves!
It’s been a few months since season one, and the next few episodes were recorded late last year, so I’ve taken a bit of a break to stay relevant with the things I’m going through - there’s always something new!
We’re kicking off this season with Lisa Gadd, who I met a few years ago in Cambodia with Project Gen Z at the Sunshine Children’s Village.
Interestingly, we’ve both taken a break from Project Gen Z trips over the years due to personal breakdowns, which we get into in this episode.
So, where is Lisa at today?
She likens it to being in a tornado, having moved house and in the middle of transitioning her career.
“What if I fail? What if it doesn’t work? Am I better just to stay safe and do what I’ve always done, or take that leap and back myself for what’s next?”
And how did she get to this place of feeling like there’s something more out there for her?
Join your host Sarah Riegelhuth as she’s joined by Lisa Gadd in this episode of In My Truth, as they dive into mindset shifts, career changes, the dance between safety and risk, and how we still have to work on our self talk around appearance.
“I just feel like there’s so much more I could be contributing to the world.”

“The sheep part of me wants to keep me safe, but the lion in me wants to get out there and try something new.”
Like many of us, Sarah and Lisa deal with self-doubt and fear regularly, whether it’s around their careers, their relationships or even how white their teeth are.
How does self-doubt show up for you, and how do you deal with it?
Lisa and Sarah also get vulnerable with the untruths they’re living with around:
- the impact they’re having on the world
- taking the leap
- fear of failure
- the inner critic
- trusting ourselves
- comfort zones
- hearing self doubt out
- making friends with fear and failure
- finishing Sarah’s capital raise with Grow My Team
- up-leveling
- surrendering to what is meant for us
- learning to be single and enough on our own
- playing in our comfort zones in relationships
- doing the work and facing our demons
- how our history and toxic patterns come up in our relationships
- swinging the pendulum from one extreme to the other
- romantic relationships versus our relationships with our staff members
- how energy can misalign in all types of relationships
- the fear of being alone
“The goal isn’t to overcome the doubt and fear and not have it, because to do is very simple: we just stay in our comfort zone. If we don’t want to feel the fear and the doubt, we can just stay where we are and we won’t feel it. That’s the solution, but that solution is limiting. That solution doesn’t allow any type of growth.”
“Even if what’s meant to be is a spectacular failure, trust that that’s what is meant to be.”
“It’s the uncomfortable journey, but on the other side is so much light.”

Remember you’re not alone, and there is hope, even though it may not feel that way at times. Talk to someone, a friend or family member and let them support you. Reach out to a professional. Do whatever you need to do to start your journey back to feeling good.
