Ep.08 How to Handle Difficult Emotions
To fully step into your potential your ability to handle difficult emotions is the key. When you can sit in feelings of rejection, or handle a wave of anxiety before giving a presentation, you become unstoppable. To build new habits and break destructive ones, we have to be able to sit in difficult emotions. Most addictions and compulsive behaviors like eating, watching porn, vaping, etc. are often used to escape from a potential difficult emotion. In this episode we provide tools to ride emotional waves, to welcome difficult emotions versus resist them.
When you can handle your emotional response, you are able to step into difficult conversations with your partner, to ask for a raise, to stand up for yourself, and to respond consciously to a situation versus impulsively react. EX: Road rage, yelling at your child
Your ability to handle difficult emotions is a muscle.
