Episode 4- Ginger Cookies
For this week's episode, we are once again looking, not at an entree, but this time at everyone's favorite part of a meal- the dessert! This recipe is one that I learned early on, and has been a favorite of mine and my friends every time. This is a sweet cookie, but also has a good molasses flavor behind it. And best of all, it's easy and quick to make! So I hope you have a big sweet tooth, because today we are making cookies! Time- 45 minutes Difficulty (1-10)- 4 Ingredients- 1 cup sugar 3/4 cups shortening 4 tablespoons molasses 1 egg 2 1/3 cup all-purpose flour 2 teaspoons baking soda 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon ginger cinnamon sugar mixture (1/8 cup sugar and 1/2 tablespoon cinnamon works well Tools- Mixing bowl spatula oven, preheated to 350 degrees Fahrenheit baking sheets (usually 2) non-stick spray or parchment paper cooling rack

Episode 3- 90 Minute Bread
Today, we're going to take a break from some main courses and focus on a different food group- bread. This is a simple bread recipe that allows you to make fresh, hot bread with only a few ingredients and a little time. So, I hope you'll join me as we make some fresh bread! Time- 90 minutes Difficulty (1-10)- 2 Ingredients- 2 packages yeast, or 4.5 teaspoons of yeast 1/2 cup warm, not hot, water, in a container that you can mix in 1.5 cups warm water, separate 2 tablespoons cooking oil (canola or vegetable work well) 2 tablespoons granulated sugar 2.5 teaspoons salt 4-4.5 cups all-purpose flour, with extra for dusting Tools- Mixing bowl Spatula or other stirring implement Oven, preheated to 375 Fahrenheit 2 loaf pans (1 if making a half recipe) measuring cups

Episode 2- Simple Paella
This is a very simple version of the dish known as paella. It takes a little bit of time to cook, but the results are well worth the wait. So join me as me make paella! Time- 45 minutes Difficulty (1-10)- 3 Ingredients: I package (roughly 6.8 oz) Spanish rice with a flavor packet 1 package Kielbasa (already cooked 1 pound shrimp (cooked, de-veined, tail off) 1 can corn 1 can diced tomatoes 1.5 cups water 2 tablespoons (tbs) of butter 1/2 cup salsa Tools: Hot plate or burner, large enough to hold the pan steady 12-inch or larger pan, with lid or other covering (make sure it is several inches deep) Spatula Cutting board or other cutting surface Sharp knife
