According to Harvard Health, a diet rich in vegetables and fruits can lower blood pressure, reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke, prevent some types of cancer, lower risk of eye and digestive problems, and have a positive effect upon blood sugar, which can help keep appetite in check. For optimal health, we need a rainbow of nutrients and colors.
In fact, the variety of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and phytochemicals in fruits and vegetables have enormous healing powers. And many of them bring their own distinctive colors.
Eating a diversity of colorful foods can be an easy way to get a complete range of the vitamins and minerals your body needs to thrive.
The advice to “eat the rainbow” is often used with kids. And while kids especially need a diversity of foods in their diets, so do adults. To connect with Amy Tang and join her current challenge come to: www.AgeVibrantlyTips.com
