If you want to fundraise serious capital, you’re going to need more than just selling cookies and chocolate. In today’s episode we explore going Beyond the Bake Sale with Christian Robillard, where we discuss:
- Why fundraising is an asset: It teaches you better project management, public speaking, communication, and active listening skills, as well as being very resourceful. Fundraising also builds a thicker skin for rejection
- What it means to go “Beyond the Bake Sale” and make bigger fundraising asks
- The importance of having quality team players that take initiative and believe in the cause
- The 3 Fs of where you should start with fundraising: Family, Friends, and Fans of the charity/cause; also utilizing the donor database of a charity/organization
- How asking for help and seeking advice from someone establishes a thriving relationship, as well as how this approach can eventually lead to you getting lots of capital for your cause
- How to get over the fear of asking for the money: build genuine rapport and a relationship with the money partner, do role playing, handle objections, and simply ASK FOR THE SALE/CAPITAL
