The main goal of business is to maximize profits, but what are the main cogs in the system of the economy? PEOPLE! In order for a business to thrive, so too must its workforce in terms of diversity, their mental and physical health, and feeling valued in the workplace. On today’s episode we interview Rhiannon Rosalind, who is the CEO of the Economic Club of Canada (one of the most prestigious organizations in the country).
In this episode we discuss:
- How Rhiannon became President of the Economic Club at age 26, and rebranded it to a nationwide organization
- How the Economic Club serves as a valuable platform for the Private and Public Sectors to discuss both 1) the pulse on the economy and 2) how to continue improving it
- The concept of “Conscious Leadership,” which is essentially organizations taking into account ALL of the factors that make up a successful workforce. For example: Diversity and Inclusion, the mental and physical health of their workforce, Truth and Reconciliation, and having a “People, Planet, and Profit” approach to business and public policy
- For fun: Which past Economic Club speakers Rhiannon would have on her team in a Zombie Apocalypse (Michelle Obama, Justin Trudeau, and Wayne Gretzky made the cut!)
