In this episode, I interviewed Breta Orth on her journey through cyclical living and the importance of honoring rest. Breta is a Cyclical Living + Embodiment Coach. She works closely with ritual and ceremony to weave the magic back into daily tasks. Her journey began when she was a young girl, but it wasn't until her early twenties that she started listening to Spirit's guidance. From there, life has unraveled and led her to study Yoga 500 RYT, the menstrual (moon) cycle and birth work. These areas of focus have helped paved the way for Spirit to weave into her life and be of service for Women. You can find her group mentorship programs, 1:1 coaching sessions, retreats and ceremonies at www.moonriseritual.com.
I enjoyed this conversation so much because it was truly medicine that I’ve been needing. Through the flow of our collective thoughts, I was able to move some stagnant energy within myself and my relationship with rest-- nesting into the feelings of giving myself permission.

I am so excited to share this conversation between myself and Mikaela Valentino, where we discuss psychedelic plant and fungi medicine weaved into our family environments- the importance of normalizing, accepting, honoring and holding space in ceremony for these sentient beings that move through our collective.
Mikaela is originally from Los Angeles - occupied Tongva territory. Now living in San Diego - occupied Luiseno, Cahuilla, Cupeno, Kumeyaay, and Northern Diegueño territory.
Her life’s work is to witness people find their path to power and educate whenever possible in the traditions taught to her.
She is a mother, a friend to many and an educator • entrepreneur centering entheogenic motherhood, yoni steaming in the ma’at tradition and ancestral veneration.

In this episode, I share how my pregnancy is flowing- the ups and
downs! I take a little dive into my personal prenatal care routines
with some beloved herbal allies and different application methods.
Pregnancy is a bit of a grey area in herbalism which has encouraged my
relationship with my herbal allies to shift but is presenting
opportunity to deepen my relationship with plants that haven't been in
my regular routine.
I also share a list of books, herbs that are commonly suggested for
prenatal care, and even some herbs that I've been missing (due to them
being contraindicated.)

Episode 2 begins the dive into conversations of foundational and
applicable herbalism through the lens of water as a solvent. Water is
the universal solvent but how do herbs get alchemized into this life
giving substance?
I discuss some water soluble constituents and their most potent forms
of extraction, water based solvents such as teas (infusions and
decoctions), vinegar, honey, glycerin, as well as some fun and
delicious ways to play with water like juicing, preserving as ice
cubes, and herbal lattes.
I give so much gratitude to the water spirit for sharing wisdom and
for giving life.

Welcome to The Wise Wytch Wellness Podcast. In episode 1, I discuss my own journey of healing and wellness that ultimately lead me onto the path of herbalism. This is a vulnerable and personal story about being very lost in my early 20's that ultimately ended with me getting arrested and convicted of a felony (for a plant.) I also share about an accident that changed everything for my family and how all of these events lead me to a medicine ceremony where I met the love of my life. It was not an easy thing to open up about and reflect on but feels important to share my story of healing. We all have grief and trauma that needs tending and for me, plant medicine has been a major role in supporting my path of healing.
As this is just the introduction, more episodes filled with herbal goodness are on their way!
