
You've probably heard of body positivity but today I wanted to talk a lil bit about body neutrality
It can be so hard to just accept ourselves and feel good about ourselves when the whole world is teaching us the opposite.
Today I talk about the different tactics company's use to sell you something.
How beauty standards are every changing so how can we keep up with them how you need to look out for filters and other ways of making people appear perfect on camera.
I also talk a bit about cellulite and how it's not actaully real (mad I know) as it is a great example of how the beuaty industry created another thing for us to hate about ourselves in order to sell us a product.
Remember you don't have to love your body every day and there will be days that you may not feel amazing about it. Thats normal, it just means your human so instead of beating yourself up for this happenening try acknowledging the feelings and finding our where they come from.

Have you ever had an injury that you just can't seem to shake?
It could even be a niggle or maybe your knee can tell the weather.
Have you decided that this is the way it will be forever...or have you even tried going about sorting it?
Today I talk about how we can finally get rid of those aches and pain for good, or at least maintain the area so that they are kept at bay.
Disclaimer: This is not injury specific and if you are suffering from a chronic illness this is unlikey to work for you.
I talk about how by going to a physio and gettin a proper rehab programme can save a lot of pain now and in the future.
How our body adapts to protect itself when injured.
How you've probably not over done it just because you are sore.
How perfect aligment doesn't exist.
And that if you do go to a physical therapist of any kind that you listen to their advice or if you are sceptical of any of it ask them because if you ignore it and do your own thing you're wasting both of your time.
This is a topic that is very close to my heart and I find so many people just ignore pain for long periods of time and consider it normal when if they put a bit of time into it and stopped just takin pain killers they could see a big difference in not just the pain, but the functionality of they affected area.

How long have you been on a weightloss/fatloss journey? Have you reached your goal yet?

In todays episode I talk about how we sacrifice consistency for the newest shiney object in order to get to our goal
How anyone who has reached their goal gave up the quickfixes a long time ago (see #54 Steve Griffen on losing 120 pounds, planning for shift work and controling the controlables)
The difference between weightloss and fatloss and how obsessing over little weight fluctuations can be your downfall
That being perfect is impossible
And that you have the choice to stick to your diet or decide that an event or holiday is more important but you have to own that choice whichever one you make.
I also talk briefly about the importance of where you get your info from and just because one diet/training plan worked for x influencer with 50k followers does'nt mean it will work for you.
Remember nothing will ever beat consistency no matter what your goal is
so before you jump on the next plan maybe see if its something that you can maintain long term and if the answer is no, its probably not going to get you the results you want.

How many times have you told yourself you can't do something?
You proably have a list of reasons why you aren't able to do it
So you don't question it, and it becomes a self fullfilling prophecy as to why you were right all along.
Today I talk about how we need to question these beliefs in order to stop them holding us back.
I speak about manefesting and that while it does work some form of action is needed How its ok to admit you've been wrong about something.
How we all need to be aware of our own biases (yes you do have them)
And that even experts can make mistakes.

The M word
This has to be the most common thing I hear.(along with wanting to get toned)
But how do you get motivated is the real question?
You've probably heard the saying "motivation isn't real" and while this is true there are a few things that we can do keep the fire lit.
This includes, figuring out why we are doing what we are doing!
If we are going through the motions it can be very hard to keep going.
Are you expecting too much too soon? Are you really pushing yourself? (be honest)
Are you actually recovering enough? When you answer these questions it will be easier to "stay motivated".
Remember we want to be doing this for the right reasons not just because we think we should.
If you aren't doing it for you, you wont keep it up!

Have you ever tracked calories?
Or maybe you think it's obsessive and no body should be.
The thing is, there is a time and a place for everything, including tracking calories.
Whether you are wanting to reduce bodyfat a bit or you just want to see how much you are actually consuming, tracking calories is a very useful tool. It is a date reference you can use to aid your progress...
However it is not for everyone.
If you are someone who becomes obsessed with it to the point it gets in the way of your life it is not for you.
In this episode I also talk about diets and how being on a diet can result in serious binging once you're off.
How all diets are just a calorie deficit in a different package.
And to remember food will always be there so you don't have to have it all before you start a diet.
Remember if you find yourself stuck in a cycle like this or you are listening to this thinking "I do that, but it's different with me, I don't have a problem" it's likely that you could do with some professional help with this issue.

Who has ever said those words to a Personal trainer or Gym instructor?

I think we have all said or thought this at some point in our lives.
I know that I certanly have.
As recently as last week.
We know that fat is not an emotion yet we still find ourselves refering to it like it is.
With eating disorders on the rise across men and women of all ages, it's very important that we look at what is causing us to feel this way. Acknowledge it and see how we can move on from it or risk it taking hold.
We also need to be careful how we talk about our younger relatives and understand how an off hand comment by you can affect them greatly in the long run.
If this is something that you feel resonates with you, Do not be afraid to seek proffessional help as the consequences can be both physical and metnal over time.

So this is a something I think is very topical right now as many of us have either already been away or will be going in the next few weeks and I wanted to cover it as a topic! I feel like holidays are like a diet on steroids We lose our routine.
Eat more.
Drink more.
And when you get back it's easy to feel like you have to "get back on it" hardcore cos you feel bloated and icky I wanted you all to know that you don't have to go straight back on a diet and punish yourself for having fun!
