October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month💜. As a survivor & advocate for DV, the entire month of October will feature episodes of women I have met who share their own personal stories of overcoming domestic violence.
Melanie Hernandez is a domestic violence advocate and recovery support specialist in the city of Chicago. With over 4 years of experience, Melanie’s goal while teaching about DV is to bring relatability to the subject for younger people and to de-stigmatize having conversations about abuse and mental health. Melanie is the creator and designer of her brand, Mel 360 Designs, where she uses the clothes as messages for healthy relationships and protecting women.

Sarah has been in the work of providing women therapeutic counseling for 13 years and has now partnered with Melanie to form "We Protect Women" as an advocacy organization that centers domestic violence and the continuous effort to keep women and children safe.
