October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month💜. As a survivor & advocate for DV, the entire month of October will feature episodes of women I have met who share their own personal stories of overcoming domestic violence.
Evie is your local Chingona, helping people tap into their inner dopeness. She’s is a first-gen college graduate, Latina, engineer, entrepreneur, business owner and domestic violence survivor. She works with people who desire to break generational curses by teaching them how to advocate for themselves in salary negotiations. She’s helped her clients secure over $90,000+ in salary increases and can’t wait to continue to help more people negotiate their salaries.

Listen this week as Evie shares her journey of leaving an abusive relationship. We talk about how that relationship progressed, warning signs she noticed, her "AHA" moment when she finally left that relationship for good, dealing with PTSD as a trauma survivor and more.
Domestic violence affects everyone. It doesn't discriminate against race or gender. It doesn't matter how young or old you are. It doesn't matter what your socioeconomic background is or what your body looks like. It doesn't matter what's your sexual orientation or religious views are. It doesn't matter if the abuse happened "only once" or if you've experienced it a numerous amount of times. Abuse is abuse, and it needs to be talked about.
The Watch Us Thrive podcast is committed to breaking the silence against domestic violence. Through sharing stories like my own and Evie, we are taking back control over our lives, turning our pain into purpose and speaking up for the voiceless💜
