She earned a master's degree in human development, counseling, and family studies from the University of Rhode Island and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Johnson & Wales University. Her doctoral dissertation focused on the "Relationship of Helicopter Parenting on Autonomy Development in First-Year College Students."An active member of the higher education community, Beth has been involved with the Northeast Association of College and University Housing Officers (NEACUHO) and the Boston Area College Housing Association (BACHA), serving as president of both organizations. She is a past NASPA Region I Regional Director and served a two-year term on the NASPA National Board of Directors.
