Welcome to TURTZED!
Who are we? How do we show up in the world, and how do we get to where we want to be?
My intention - and my commitment to you - is to show up each week on TURTZED as Charlie, in the buff, failures, belly flops, flaws and all, and to share my journey, share the journey of others I have met along the way, and introduce the modalities that have helped us affect real change in our lives.
Episode Takeaways:
-
Rather than having so many different versions of yourself, based on the community or situation, consider that it might ultimately be more enjoyable and far less complicated, just to be your authentic self.
-
Rationalizing something away does not diminish its impact, and doing so may make you feel hopeless.
-
Past traumas which we have experienced are not our fault and we should not feel shame from them. When we recognize the intense emotions that are triggered by early traumas, it may be best to pause and reflect as this reaction is likely being triggered from the past - rather than impulsively misdirecting those emotions at stimuli from the present..
-
Seek out trustworthy, compassionate people who will accept you and provide a safe space for you to enjoy being your authentic self.
