I'm not joking when I tell you that I was drained after this episode with my guest Jeffrey Deskovic. Imagine being a 16 year old kid and being accused of a rape and murder that you didn't commit. Imagine being coerced into a confession by the very police that you were brought up to believe in and trust. And then imagine at 17 years of age, after prosecutorial misconduct, key evidence disappearing, a judge who at the very least was apathetic to the misconduct that he allowed in his courtroom, that you're convicted by a jury of your peers and sentenced to 15 years to life in a men's maximum security prison. That was the tragedy that became the life of Jeffrey Deskovic.His story is one of resilience and the power of the human spirit. What he has gone on to do since his exoneration is nothing less than remarkable.
