Vulnerable and Honest
Solo Mary feels like a 30 minute poem and I am all about it! Thanks for such vulnerability and honesty--it's truly what we need in this world. It's what I needed to listen to today.

Used to love it
I’ve put off writing this review for so long, and I did my best to think of every reason to be understanding about the problems here but I feel that turning the other cheek right now would mean allowing some crude behavior to continue without trying. In the beginning, the community that this podcast had created was amazing. As time went on, they began to monetize in areas that made/make little sense. The more my friends from the Manic Fam began to break it down, the more we saw the truth which eventually caused us all to feel a lot of hurt after having put so much love, money and time into both Mary and Wyatt. We started to leave and participate less. Then completely left at our own pace. We each faced our own breaking points- from some of their jokes that have crossed the line, to downright advertising paying for a subscription that gives you acces to things like one-on-one sessions with unlicensed unstable people and some wedding photos. Mine was when I realized they constantly try to reel in their vulnerable audience with promises of getting the opportunity to speak to a formerly famous person whom they’ve admired for a long time. It became more and more apparent over time just how comfortable they are with fully taking advantage of people who the claim to be their friends. These are people, like my friends and I, who have dealt with a lot. We’re sometimes lonely and both Mary and Wyatt will constantly use the “church cult” trope of “come on in, we love you so much. We’re here for you” They talk about how we’re all their friends and how they just LOVE talking to us and having time with us. In some of the patron tiers you get access to a “focus hour” with Wyatt. This is where the sit in silence and people do what they need to get done. It’s literally capitalism that you can find some form of benefit from therefore you stay while paying far too much for far too little. I know they seem great, but the more you dive into the more you can identify the aspects of the his podcast that could, and have been, very detrimental to the funds of other mentally ill people.

Love y’all
Thanks for the example of how to be and how to be vulnerable in the world. I am a huge huge fan. Would love for y’all to talk about friendship in adulthood and diversity and mental illness and how they all intersect.

Love Wyatt & Mary!
I have spent a great deal of time listening to podcasts and finally found my people. So relatable! I love the book references- The poetry. They are so authentic and insightful when discussing topics that are often stigmatized in today’s society!

Incredibly Validating
I’m a fat bipolar lesbian and I have found this podcast to be incredibly validating, informative, helpful, and fun. I got my diagnosis in May 2018 and started meds in October of that year, but I didn’t know until I began listening to the podcast a few months ago that bipolar obsessions were a thing and it explained something about me that I’d always wondered about. Hearing Wyatt’s academic approach to discussions being loved and supported gives me hope that maybe one day someone will love that about me too.

Smart, funny, authentic
I look forward to each episode and get lost in the glory of Wyatt’s language and humor and and Mary’s passion and heart. They tell great stories that draw you right in, sharing from the heart. Cheering you two on in this endeavor and in life!

My favorite podcast!!!!
The lovely and talented Mary Lambert joins her partner, professor and doctor of literature, Wyatt Hermansen to talk all things mental illness, queerness, body love, and so many more complicated facets of life. They share deeply personal stories and use their backgrounds and experiences to comment on current events, share their obsessions, and have both serious and silly banter that brings inquisitiveness and absolute joy to the listener. They are the most kind, compassionate, resourceful, just stinkin amazing human beings. Oh! And there are poems!! You won’t get bored of listening for one second!

I wish I could rate this 100000 stars!
This podcast has been a staple of my Friday routine for a year and a half, and truly it’s made me a better person! I’ve laughed until I’ve cried, I’ve cried until I’ve laughed, and I’ve gotten to listen to some absolutely life changing poetry. If you’re not listening to it currently, stop what you’re doing and binge it right now. You’ll thank me for it later. Thank you, Mary and Wyatt!

Hooked After ONE Episode
Mary and Wyatt are so genuine and raw. After randomly discovering this podcast, I jumped in on a random episode and loved their conversation style. Currently binging the rest of these and have enjoyed getting to know these two! I find myself taking notes as if I am back in school. Ya’ll make me laugh, learn, and grow (I’m sure that’s painted on wood somewhere being sold at Bucee’s). Thank you for this.

A podcast of pure JOY and DEPTH
This is genuinely one of my favorite podcasts I’ve ever listened to. I love how deep Wyatt and Mary delve into their personal and professional lives and how their bipolar disorders and queer identities intertwine to make such a beautiful and passionate life. I have laughed out loud MANY times while fighting back tears moments before. I couldn’t recommend this more!

A great bonding experience
My fiancé and I just began listening a few weeks ago. The conversations these two cover and bring to the forefront of your mind. The humor and vibrancy they both give just motivates me to be more observant of myself and my actions. Thank you for this brilliant randomness and truthfulness.

Just the best
I am so glad I stumbled up this. I’m a fellow queer with bi-polar, and that is the first time I have written that. Since my diagnosis I have spent all my energy proving that it was wrong. This podcast makes me feel seen, heard, like I’m chatting with friends and I LOVE IT. Even if this isn’t a community you identify with, there is so much to learn! Listen! Everyone listen!

A truly meaningful series of conversations

Just what I needed
I follow Mary on Instagram and finally tuned in here. I am devouring the available episodes as quickly as possible. I can’t afford a therapist but this feels like progress to me. Thank you both for opening your door to us.

Already hooked but...
I’m two episodes in and already hooked, but I have one issue. You can’t just draw a card. You have to shuffle the deck with intention and focus on your question. THEN draw the card. 👻💖

I love this podcast. That’s all. It’s excellent.

Talking the real real
Mary and Wyatt are perfect? Yes. Will they make you laugh? Yes. Will they make you think deeply about feelings you sometimes ignore? Absolutely. Will Wyatt unknowingly teach you a couple new words because you failed English in HS a bunch? Oh yea (keep your Google fingers at the ready). Currently my favorite podcast and I’m so happy it exists.

Just a fan
I fell in love with Mary after hearing same love.. but omg to be able to get to know her and now you Wyatt on such a deeper level. I just wish we could be best friends. More than that, I am just so happy about this new podcast you two are doing together. I have felt connected in so many ways and I just wanted to thank you two for talking about things that most people don’t. Especially in my life and surroundings. I feel loved and seen. ♡ Nichole

As a former classmate of Mary’s, I’ve been impressed for decades
But this really has pushed it over the edge for me. I love the topic of addiction and then the one of the church. I related so much even though I am not gay, and I love that the LGBTQ+ community has a podcast like this to listen to. Mary and Wyatt are hilarious also. I’m so happy I listened!

Love this show
As a young butch lesbian, it's easy to feel alone and disconnected from the world. But this show gives me such a sense of comfort, like I'm sitting down with friends and finally hearing what I wish I would've been told when I was younger. I come from a homophobic home where my mom uses the Bible as ammunition rather than a source of love, and it's so comforting to just hear y'all talk about religion and the church in a way that I've always thought myself but never voiced aloud. Thank you, Mary and Wyatt, for soothing this butch's anxious soul. My partner and I love and appreciate you both!

Omg ladies this show is amazing as someone who has always struggled with mental health issues and the stigma of being gay and being married to an amazing woman. You two make me laugh cry and just love myself. So I want to say thank you and continue to do amazing things❤️

I love this podcast
My friend showed me this, and I love your messages. They hit home being a gay fat girl who has mental health issues. To hear other people go through your same struggle with body issues and mental health issues. It’s not talked about enough and the light you put it in is amazing. Thank you for being so raw and real. It’s inspiring and like a breath of fresh air. ❤️

New favorite pod
I listen to this podcast while cooking at night, and it is the best wind down from a crazy day. The hosts are hilarious, smart and genuine. Laughing and crying in every episode. It is amazing to hear their stories about their struggles and joys with bipolar disorder. So many times I have felt validated in my own journey with generalized anxiety and panic disorders because of relating to them. I was hooked after the Gatsby reference in episode 1!

Awesome!
This podcast is for everyone. I’m a 43 years old, cisgender fat man, and I think this podcast is great. I’ve been recommending it quite a bit. The ease and humor Paige and Mary have with each other is infectious. I’ve learned a lot and can’t wait to hear more.

Pentecostal BS
Hi, I’m writing this in regard to your second episode . I knew I was “not straight” since 7th grade. Unfortunately after I joined the Navy and was in a same sex relationship, I was almost kicked out of the navy for this. (Before “don’t ask, don’t tell” was deleted from the military). I then thought I was wrong and found faith in the Pentecostal faith. They weren’t aware of my dating past. Once they were, it became about - pray away the gay. By this time I was in leadership in the church, a youth pastor after my degree in theology. I was doing great but told that I needed to be straight and I was wrong. To you Paige: I was invited to speak at an episcopal church for youth week based on the status I had in the youth church world. What my leadership told me was that the episcopal church accepted the idea of “homosexuality”, and for that reason I was to be the LIGHT to them. It really confused me. Obviously, I’m no longer part of that Pentecostal community but grateful to you guys for accepting the responsibility to speak of these things. There are so many closeted church people afraid to come out. Thanks!

Third episode!
Have you guys heard of Unitarian Universalism? I was raised in the UU church since I was 8. I’m now 31 and a queer woman and grew up in a small town in Florida. Love you both! I look forward to this podcast! Thank you!

Fantastic!
The ease and intimacy of the exchange between the hosts, who are in a relationship, lends a slightly voyeuristic feel to listening to this podcast in the most enjoyable way. Thank you for your candor and humor. This is a must listen to podcast for sure! Bonus points for *thats what she said.
