Linking up with the ILLUSTRIOUS (no HBCU) Des The Problem (@destheproblem) out in the grimey 90s, we start our episode really discussing the last minute high school choice that really fostered the innate creative living within Des and we then segue into the Trini familial influence and how having a musically inclined and just overall creative father aided in the come up of Des as an artist.. but with school coming first cause you know Trini parents 🥴We get some insight on upcoming work from the Brooklyn native and how her ethic goes into her minimal but amazing drops. She drops a lot of insight on her perfectionist ways and how it carries the methodology of going about her music and her craft. There’s a love for familiarity, and there’s a strong commodification of not only Black culture, but of Black people being studied off a lens of struggle.
