The Going is a fictional short story about 9-11 and this is my first podcast. I share my thoughts about writing The Going, read you an excerpt and talk about the significance of this story looking back now. The story is dedicated to the NYPD, the greatest detectives in the world, the East Village and NYC. I am an artist and writing is part of my art. I also have excerpts from other short fictional stories and poems in itunes. Thanks for your interest in my creative process!
NYC Oligarch Central part 2
I am holding the piece from The New York Daily News “I gave $20 million to pals on Council, Bloomy Sez (Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008)and the mayor admits some of it went to City Councils -- “...their districts and questionable organizations” so why is it no surprise that the mayor a man who has no criminal record to avoid breaking any laws simple request$ that city council vote his way and this is the city council that voted themselves a raise when the city budget was far from flush and the NYPD salary was actually lowered. This is a democracy although NYC is oligarch central with a lot of min-Mike Bloomberg wannabes but make room for King Mike, he loves positions of powers and clearly he has his eye on being King of New York. He is not alone. In my old neighborhood, the East Village it seemed like the community board was filled with mini-Mike wannabees and most people do not even know who they are, didn’t get to vote for them and it they don’t want term limits or any limits -- it just seems everyone wants more power. Welcome to the new hideous New York built on old New York’s infrastructure thanks to Mike Bloomberg and the city and country are on the very of possible implosion from the lack of checks and balances set in place and Mike want to throw out yet another called term limit that in theory fights against corruption, cronyism and reinforces in theory that we are a democracy. http://www.nydailynews.com/ny_local/2008/09/24/2008-09-24_i_gave_20m_to_pals_on_council_mayor_bloo.html#

Blooders
I posted this story idea on www.suzannahbtroy.blogspot.com before I removed the blog and yes when I think of blood the most positive thoughts are The New York Blood Center who calls me so much asking for donations because NYC is always low on blood. The people that work to get donors to come in, the donors, the nurses, etc are wonderful. The dark aspect are the “vampire people” that really want to drain you on any level possible.... exploitive selfish mega-narcissists (they are so funny they accuse anyone but themselves of being narcissists, greedy developers and landlords where the laws all seem to favor them and it seems like or feels like they use the “law” in place of old style thugs that would come and beat people up to force them out but not they use their deep pockets and the law to attempt to push people out and shut them up plus mega bucks that run company that fall apart yet they leave with mega buck loads of money.... yeah, yeah -- people with addict mentalities addicted to just about everything but they can’t admit it blame the innocent so yeah it has a vampire kind of feel of predators and it is all economic strata -- doesn’t have to be just the rich to be exploitive and not take responsibility but I made this story idea about just the rich... p.s. Yes, I am watching True Blood on HBO http://www.hbo.com/trueblood/ and I like it so much I starting reading Charlaine Harris’s books. http://www.charlaineharris.com/

Americans can't afford America
At the rate we are going the average American tax payer won’t be able to afford living in America.... American tax payers are suppose to absorb the USPS's estimated loss this year alone of 2 billion dollars plus the mortgage crisis, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and now the  possible the bail out of financial institutions with  mega-wealthy leaders who's combined Christmas bonuses are large enough to feed every homeless person in the America. At the rate of this ever expanding list of bail outs the average American tax payer will not be able to afford to live in America. Suzannah B. Troy

New York Blood Center called me and asked me to donate platelets again. They are really low on blood and they need help. I feel exhausted. The beautiful little cat I am holding just had her eye removed and my other cat was deathly ill and was on an iv for days. The card I am holding is from The NY Blood Center and says “Gallons of Blood” I can’t imagine running over to a blood center and hooking my arm up to a machine for one hour right now but if you can God Bless you!!!!!!! 1-800-933-blood www.nybloodcenter.org

mayor's I want it now developers
The letter The New York Times won’t publish because of their very good friends and their use of eminent domain that I point out so often plus a rant about infrastructure concerns in NYC and on Wall St. and what will take -- an implosion or another explosion? Letter to the editor:Mayor Bloomberg faults "the I want it now" mentality in part  for the "sub prime collapse" yet  this is the very  mentality to blame for the Bloomberg administration's green light for  this furious  tsunami of community crushing development that have outraged so many New Yorkers  puts New York City's infrastructure in  danger of collapse and it seems like an interconnected domino effect from Wall Street to the way too rapid development. nyu stop supersizing our historic neighborhood and start supersizing your contributions!!!!!!!
NYU has mega dormed the East Village to death and Cooper Union, The New School, New York Law and SVA all have mega dorms in the East Village and NYU has mega supesized student housing in China Town. Time to open up your doors and give us community outreach resource centers that empower the community and help including people and small businesses fight eviction, help with education of community members, computer access and more... The photo above shows an NYU mega dorm on 3rd Avenue and a Cooper Union mega dorm to the right...both hideous ugly and do not fit in with the East Village.

Chopping the Street, one mega million at a time
“Chopping the Street” is a look at white collar crime, hypocrisy and people’s fasciation with gossip. I wrote this post 9-11 in 2003 and I remember feeling really sad but writing this gave me pleasure.  My theory is Jack Nicholson and Peter Fonda used the same inspiration as I did for their film Easy Rider meaning motorcycles as art and an expression of rebellion which is still iconic globally but the story is really about white collar crime which at the time I wrote this cost the tax payers of New York about 13 billion dollars as reported in The New York Post which I mention in the story. I verbally edit some words and leave out text because this is itunes not Playboy magazine. I am grateful to my good muses because inspiration is the life line for an artist and post 9-11, anything that gave me a natural high was truly needed and appreciated. Painting can be a painful process but writing isn’t and I don’t have to clean the paint brushes. Post 9-11, I became fascinated with transportation, fierce beautiful moving art. I include images of 2 of my paintings in the podcast which you can find on my website www.suzannahbtroyartist.com. The photo to the right is me standing by a painting of Truman Capote at the Chelsea Hotel. I hope you enjoy my 2nd podcast...This is a purely fictional tale and any similarities to anyone or group, club etc. is purely coincidental.
