The Feel Good Club
Emma Lewis
The Feel Good Club is a wellbeing podcast exploring what it means to live well through practice, presence and purpose. Hosted by Emma, founder of Showcase Well-Being, yoga and mindfulness teacher, wellbeing educator, psychology postgraduate and forever student, each episode explores the intersection of yoga philosophy, psychology, mindfulness, contemplative traditions and evidence-informed wellbeing. Through thoughtful conversations, practical tools and reflective practices, The Feel Good Club invites you to slow down, cultivate self-awareness and explore what it truly means to live well not by striving for perfection, but through practice, presence and purpose. Whether we're discussing the Yoga Sutras, Buddhist psychology, behaviour change, nervous system regulation, habits or everyday rituals, each episode offers space to pause, reflect and reconnect with what matters most. Different, Not Deficient: Compassion Through Neurodivergence
What happens when we stop asking "What is wrong with you?" and start asking "What happened when the world asked you to be something you weren't?" In this episode I explore compassion through the lens of neurodivergence, drawing on my own recent ADHD diagnosis and lived experience as a parent, wife, teacher and wellbeing practitioner. This episode is an invitation to recognise, understand and empower neurodiversity within our communities  and to question the ways our schools, workplaces, families and wider society can unintentionally make difference feel like deficiency. We explore the history and misunderstanding of ADHD, the experiences of women and late diagnosis, emotional and sensory differences, and the impact that being labelled "too much", "difficult", "lazy" or "not trying hard enough" can have on self-worth. I also reflect on the over-representation of ADHD within prison populations, drawing on recent research, and explore ideas from Gabor Maté's Scattered Minds. Alongside the research, I share personal reflections on parenting, teaching and learning to understand my own history with greater compassion. Ultimately, this episode asks what could change if we stopped trying to fix people who experience the world differently and instead created communities where different ways of thinking, feeling, learning and being are recognised as part of the richness of being human. Difference doesn't mean deficiency. Neurodiversity is part of our communities  and compassion, understanding and inclusion allow people to flourish. References: Maté, G. Feel Exhausted or Overstimulated? The Ancient Yogic Practise That Helps You Come Back to Yourself.
What if peace isn't found by escaping the world, but by learning how to stay present within it? Our senses are one of the greatest gifts we have. They allow us to experience the beauty, connection and richness of being alive. But in a world filled with constant stimulation, endless information and competing demands for our attention, we can sometimes find ourselves feeling scattered, overwhelmed and disconnected from the very place we call home -  ourselves. This week on The Feel Good Club, we explore Pratyāhāra, the fifth limb of yoga and the ancient practice of turning our awareness inward alongside exploring the psychology of attention, the impact of sensory overload and why caring for our inner world has become such an important practice in modern life. Through the wisdom of yoga, mindfulness and psychology, we reflect on how we can become more conscious of where our energy flows, create more space within ourselves, and reconnect with a deeper sense of peace, clarity and presence. Because where our attention goes, our energy follows.

How to Feel and Master our Energy through Breath
What if the way you breathe shapes the way you experience your life? In this episode we explore one of the most accessible and transformative tools we all possess, our breath. More than simply keeping us alive, the breath has been revered for thousands of years as our life force and is now recognised by modern neuroscience as a powerful pathway to emotional regulation, resilience and wellbeing. Together we'll explore: Breath as Life Force – Discover the ancient yogic understanding of prana and why conscious breathing has been at the heart of yoga for centuries. Sama Vritti (Box Breathing) – Learn a simple equal-ratio breathing practice that can help cultivate balance, focus and inner steadiness. Breath as Regulation – Explore how conscious breathing influences the nervous system through the lens of neuroscience and Polyvagal Theory, supporting greater calm, safety and emotional resilience.  Breath as Remembrance – Inspired by the teachings of Thich Nhat Hanh, we reflect on how the breath gently brings us back to the present moment, reminding us that home is always just one breath away. You'll also leave with four practical breathing practices to explore this week: A daily Sama Vritti (Box Breathing) practice Using the breath to let go of stress and tension Using the breath to restore energy and vitality A simple mindfulness meditation: "I know I am breathing in. I know I am breathing out." Whether you're completely new to breathwork or looking to deepen your existing practice, this episode offers a gentle integration of ancient yogic wisdom, psychology and modern science to help you feel calmer, more present and more connected to yourself. Health Disclaimer: The practices shared in this episode are for educational purposes and are not a substitute for medical advice. Please practise within your own comfort and consult a healthcare professional before trying breath retention or new breathing techniques if you are pregnant or have a cardiovascular, respiratory or neurological condition. If at any point you feel dizzy or unwell, return to your natural breathing and discontinue the practice. If you enjoyed this episode, please follow, rate and review The Feel Good Club Podcast, and share it with someone who could benefit from taking a deeper breath today.

Returning Home to Yourself Through Embodiment
Episode Title: Returning Home to Yourself Through Embodiment In a world that encourages us to constantly think, achieve and keep moving, it's easy to become disconnected from ourselves. We can spend so much time living in our minds that we forget to listen to the quiet wisdom of the body. In this episode of The Feel Good Club Podcast, Emma explores what it means to return home to yourself through embodiment—not just through yoga, but through any practice that helps you reconnect with your body, your breath and the present moment. Whether that's mindful movement, walking in nature, breathwork, meditation, music, creativity or simply pausing to notice what's happening within, embodiment invites us to move from doing into being. Drawing on the ancient wisdom of Patanjali's Yoga Sutras, alongside modern psychology and neuroscience, including insights from The Body Keeps the Score by Bessel van der Kolk, this episode explores how reconnecting with our bodies can support self-awareness, emotional regulation and a greater sense of wholeness. In this episode, you'll discover: Why embodiment matters in an increasingly busy and distracted world. How to move from the thinking mind into the whole feeling mind. What our bodies may be communicating through sensations, tension and emotion. The relationship between breath, heart rate variability (HRV) and nervous system regulation. Simple ways to weave embodied awareness into everyday life, whatever your experience or practice. A gentle 5 Senses Meditation to help you ground yourself in the present moment. Please note: The guided meditation is designed for a time when you can give it your full attention. If you're driving, operating machinery or doing anything that requires your concentration, simply listen to the conversation and return to the meditation later when you're somewhere safe and comfortable. This episode is an invitation to meet yourself with curiosity rather than criticism, to slow down enough to listen, and to remember that coming home to yourself isn't about becoming someone new—it's about reconnecting with the person you've always been. If this conversation resonates with you, I'd love for you to follow The Feel Good Club Podcast, leave a review and share the episode with someone who might benefit from a moment of pause and presence.

How to Carry Less and Learn to Let Go
How to Carry Less: Learning to Let Go for a Tranquil Mind What if peace wasn't about controlling everything around you, but learning what you're willing to carry? In this episode we explore the art of letting go through the wisdom of Ishvara Pranidhana, the fifth Niyama of yogic philosophy. Often translated as surrender or trust, this ancient teaching reminds us that freedom isn't found by trying to control every outcome, but by releasing our attachment to what lies beyond our influence. Drawing on modern psychology, we'll also explore the principles of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which encourages us to make space for difficult thoughts and emotions, accept what cannot be changed, and commit to living in alignment with our deepest values rather than our fears. Inspired by the simple yet powerful "Why Worry?" teaching of Gaur Gopal Das, we'll reflect on the question: "Can you do something about it? If yes, why worry? If no, why worry?" Together, we'll discover how this timeless perspective can help us release the weight of overthinking, perfectionism and the constant need to control. In this episode you'll discover: The deeper meaning of Ishvara Pranidhana and how it supports inner freedom. How Acceptance and Commitment Therapy complements ancient yogic wisdom by helping us respond to life with greater psychological flexibility. Why we often hold on to stress, worry and expectations. Gentle daily practices to help you carry less, including mindful breathing, self-reflection, values-based action, gratitude and simple rituals of release. This is "not about caring less it is about carrying less". Join me as we explore how ancient philosophy, contemporary psychology and everyday practice can help cultivate a quieter mind, a lighter heart and a more peaceful way of living. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, navigating uncertainty or simply longing for greater ease, this episode offers practical tools and timeless wisdom to help you let go of what no longer serves you and reconnect with what truly matters. Please note: This podcast is intended for educational and informational purposes only and is not a substitute for professional psychological, psychiatric or medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. If you are experiencing significant emotional distress or mental health difficulties, please seek support from a qualified healthcare or mental health professional. If you are in crisis or believe you may be at immediate risk of harm, contact your local emergency services or an appropriate crisis support service without delay. Take a deep breath, soften your grip, and let's begin the practice of carrying less.     References: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy Information https://www.psychologytoday.com/gb/therapy-types/acceptance-and-commitment-therapy Gaur Gopal Das - Why Worry Teachings https://gaurgopaldas.in
