Iye Bako, also known as @iye.loves.life on Instagram, is an educator originally from Nigeria, but currently based in the United States. As a strong advocate for racial equity and animal rights and a firm believer that knowledge is power, she uses her platform to write about veganism, interconnected oppression, and collective liberation.

In this episode, we discuss why veganism needs to be anti-capitalist, the connection between animal, female and Black liberation, structures that prevent veganism from being as effective as we’d like, and how everyone can contribute to dismantling these power structures to attain food justice.
