Being able to help someone else out of their mess can feel empowering. When you're the used to being the person who fixes things, sometimes it's easy to try to step in to help others who don't want to be helped or rescued. In this episode, the host Iesha Grove, shares some personal lessons learned in trying to rescue other people who aren't wanting to be rescued. Naturally, as fixers, it's easy to want to come in to save the day for someone else, but this habit can be harmful not only to others, but to ourselves as well. It can cause tension in a relationship, and it can even create toxic behavior patterns like co-dependency. You can even start to neglect yourself and your needs to be there for everyone else- self sacrifice and love for others takes priority because you care and you don't want those around you to suffer so you're willing to do whatever it takes to support them. The issue is that the path to true love is loving yourself first, setting boundaries in your relationships, and taking care of yourself first physically, emotionally, spiritually, and mentally in order to have the capacity to support others. Listen in to learn the way that you can help someone without "helping" them so that you can protect your relationships and your own mental, emotional, and physical health. After all, you have to rescue yourself first before you can save anyone else.
Please share this episode with someone who is a "fixer" and needs to hear this.

It's easy to think that God will give us everything we pray for so long as we wait on Him. However, in today's episode, the host, Iesha Grove, challenges that idea. When we operate in a limited mindset, we also put limits on God. God invites us to actively participate in His plan and partner with Him. A deep connection with God isn't transactional, it's relational. It's about connection, alignment, surrender, faith, and action. Today is the day that we stop sitting on the sidelines of our lives, waiting for God to do all the work and using excuses to justify our inaction. Iesha discusses the affects of relying on signs from God as confirmation that we're doing the "right" thing.

Do you ever feel like you struggle between whether or not you need to push yourself to keep going towards your goals, or take the time to slow down and rest and give yourself some grace? It's a hard thing to try to figure out, especially when you're tough on yourself already. Sometimes it's not clear if what you're experiencing moment to moment is a fleeting feeling or a signal from your body and spirit telling you it's time to take a break and rest from the constant pursuit of going after your goals/dreams. If you feel like you start out strong when trying to get things done or lock in new habits whether it be for your business, your health, work, or your personal life, but then it's only a matter of time for when things go back to the way they were before you got started, then this episode is for you. The Encouraged Overcomer Podcast host, Iesha Grove shares the insight she mentioned to a friend who had the question, "When is it time to have grit and push past my feelings or show myself grace when it comes to getting things done?"
The truth is that sometimes we need to suck it up, and sometimes we need to give grace. The trick is figuring out what is what and how to respond in a way that benefits you and your efforts to get you to that goal/dream without the burnout. Stay until the end to get the answer to this important question, (in Iesha's opinion) and let us know if this episode is helpful to you in your life's journey.
