רצונו של הקב"ה הוא שהעולם כולו יהי' דירה לו ית'. הפירוש האמיתי של "דירה" הוא ע"ד ובדוגמת דירת האדם – ששם נמצא ומתגלה בכל עצמותו, עד שגם כאשר נמצא במקום אחר ה"ה חושב אודות דירתו, שלכן, גם אז נמצא הוא – בפנימיות ובאמיתיות – בדירתו. וזהו תפקידו של יהודי – לעשות מכל ענין שבעוה"ז דירה לו ית'. והקב"ה נותן את הכחות שבכל מקום ובכל זמן – בין בסתם יום חול ובין ביום כמו יוהכ"פ – יוכל כל אחד, בתור חלק מכלל ישראל, לפעול את הענין ד"ושכנתי בתוכם" ע"ד ובדוגמת התגלות השכינה בקודש-הקדשים ביוהכ"פ ע"י עבודת הקטורת של הכה"ג! (אע"פ שאי-אפשר לדמות העבודה ברשות הרבים להעבודה של כה"ג ביוהכ"פ או יהודי בביהכנ"ס).

Hashem desires that the entire world become a home for Him. A true home is where a person’s essence is expressed; even when he is somewhere else, he is thinking about home, and therefore deep down that is where he really is. And this is a Jew’s mission – to turn every aspect of this world into a true home for Hashem. He empowers us to do so in every place and time; whether on an ordinary weekday or on a day like Yom Kippur, every Jew can bring to fruition the verse, “I will dwell among them” – in a way that resembles the revelation of the Divine Presence in the Holy of Holies on Yom Kippur through the service of the Ketores offered by the Kohen Gadol.
