This week on the Couch, I look at the importance of sexual consent. I examine why healthy communication is vital even in chance sexual encounters (one night stands). I look at ways we can communicate when we need to slow down, why it's okay to take step back, and why we have to stop teaching boys that sex is about conquest. I also examine verbal and nonverbal cues that let you know your partner is ready to do the horizontal tango.

Back on the Couch after a week's break. This week I pay my respects in light of he unexpected and untimely passing of Chadwick Boseman. I also pay my respects to a legend in the game of basketball, John Thompson. I discuss grief and why it makes sense to grieve people we've never met before. I also explore what we can do when we need to care for ourselves when the news is too much to bare.

This week on the Couch, I look at how we can redefine Misogyny and how women's sexual, political, and personal freedoms are often seen as threats to the social construct of masculinity and male dominance. I begin exploring the "Black Male Privilege Checklist" and how male privilege still extends to black men. I look at the science and psychology about misogyny and how upholding misogynistic themes and power can lead to poor health outcomes.

This week on the podcast, I take inspiration from previous episodes where I explored emotional intelligence and healing needed in interpersonal and romantic relationships. This I look at what happens in romantic relationships when that healing doesn't happen. Thanks to the like of Draya Michelle and T.I., I'm looking at "Struggle Love". I examine how trauma and unhealthy relationships of the past can set us up for struggle love. I examine signs of emotional abusive relationships. I look at how we can learn to love differently and more healthy in our romantic relationships by highlighting why differentiation of self is important in romantic relationships.
