As Women's History Month winds down, We Are Jersey magazine would like to honor notable women in sports. Meet Amanda Frost and Teeigh Young - two amazing basketball coaches that have a mission to help young kids succeed on and off the court. These two were born and raised in Red Bank, NJ, and have a long history of winning awards and championships. After dedicating 12 years of their lives to coaching and training, they were finally able to open up their own basketball camp in South Jersey. Fusion School of Basketball is unlike any other; the camp emphasizes the importance of academics as well as discipline and respect. We were able to capture the true essence of our healing circle as The Beast Within hosted our annual Survivor Sister Brunch where we celebrate another year of surviving and thriving. The vibes are always dope each and every year but this year, everybody got a little more transparent and ironically, our vulnerability became our strength. As we shared our survival stories of domestic violence, tears were being shed and hugs went all around the room. For someone who used to be scared of failure, who needed everything to be super perfect before launching... I've come to realize that I have been holding myself back from my own potential because I allowed fears to take over me. Do not let your doubts and insecurities control you. Give yourself props for taking risks, even if it doesn't turn out the way you want it to.  Stop only seeing yourself successful in the future but also in the present. And always remember, rejection is God's redirection. Talk to yourself nicely especially on the days you need it most.
