Welcome to This Meets That, the podcast where movies combine with other movies to make other movies. It's a convoluted premise for a podcast, so I helpfully explain it over and over again until you're sick of it.
This week, I watch the the last watchable John Carpenter movie, 1998's Vampires, a schlocky horror western starring a pre-Trump, pre-me-tooed James Woods the way you've never seen him before, and likable in a way you will never see him again. Then I watch Clown, from the director of Spider-Man Homecoming and Far From Home, about a loving husband and father possessed by a demonic killer clown. Yes, this thing happened, and its mostly okay, if maybe a little too earnest and grounded for a movie about killer clowns.
