Welcome to The Anthologist, a podcast where some guy you don't know or care about watches and reviews randomly selected episodes from randomly selected Anthology TV shows that you may or may not know or care about. Shows designed to be watched in any order, watched in no particular order. This Week:
The Outer Limits (1995) - Season Four, Episode Ten: “Identity Crisis,” a predictable but perfectly enjoyable cyborg switcheroo almost ruined by the ugliest, cheapest looking robot in a show with a lot of ugly cheap looking robots..
The Twilight Zone (2019) - Season Two, Episode Six: “8,” A sci-fi paranoia thriller set in an arctic research station right out of John Carpenter's The Thing that feels more like an Outer Limits episode than the actual Outer Limits episode I just watched, just with more octopi.
And stay tuned for The Expansionist, where I treat the episodes I reviewed as failed backdoor pilots and imagine the full series that might have been, in this case a robotic twist on the Fugitive by way of Darkman and The Invisible Man (sort of), and a Lovecraftian mystery kind of like Helix, a Syfy Channel show you've either never heard of or have easily forgotten about some time ago.
