The show has lost its way
What was once a great source of information, has become a mouthpiece for the highest bidder.

Too much
Used to be amazing with top-tier content, but they are pumping out episodes way too fast now and the quality has really plummeted.

Devolved into conservative propaganda
I’ve been listening to this podcast for years, and it’s often been full of really great content for someone who works in cutting edge tech.
Lately, however it has become more and more clear that Tseng just wants to platform conservative mouthpieces who are spewing propaganda, rather than caring about moving a technology ecosystem forward. The latest NASA/Artemis episode was trash. Useless propaganda.

When the topic is new media it’s painful to hear billionaires deceptively talk their book, and abuse media theory concepts like “availability cascades” while pretending to be populists.

Occasionally good
A16Z often has great tech related guests and fairly good interviewers, but sometimes the audio quality is horrible. For example, the recent Balaji episode from April 22nd is unlistenable.

Sonal Says Yes Too Much!
On the episode with Sonal as host he interrupts the guest who is talking about Waymo constantly throughout the show. He has also done this in the past on previous episodes. It makes it very difficult to focus on what the guest is saying. I couldn’t sit through the whole episode to be honest.

Good insights mixed with politics
There is some good insights. Clearly they are smart and effective people. That said they have become MAGA message leader. Saying elections are going to be stolen as just one topic. Claim we can’t be a democracy without tech intervention. Probably because they know Trump is now very unpopular and likely can’t win elections without manipulation.

political show?
It got some fantastic shows about tech and investing in the past, but I don't know what it is now.

Usually a real gift
The shows oscillate between fantastic and tediously chatty depending on the guest. They can get great guests though, so always worth a try!

Lots of historically bad takes
Just a few years ago, this podcast was pumping NFTs and blockchain tech as the next big thing. People should remember this.

Seriously Keith Rabois
This would be a 6 star podcast if we didn’t have to listen to this d-bag. 5 minutes and I need to hose off the slime. I wonder how many times he is named in the Epstein files.

No longer objective or factual
Quite shocking the lack of intelligent rigor in interviews and episodes are declining factual evidence. Such a respected organization that appears to be declining in integrity in terms of vetting guest or even having robust data backed in conversations. I do hope someone will take this podcast seriously and give this show a chance.

Used to be good
This used to be a good show about startups, tech and entrepreneurship but now it’s more Marc Andreesen lecturing about politics. Avoid

Less politics please
5-star content, 1-star politics. Does Marc give new employees a MAGA hat while onboarding? Excellent work as a firm helping an authoritarian into office.
The recent Free Press politics crossover ep was a borderline joke. Words don’t equal violence unless it’s liberals calling out fascist tactics? Really? Have you heard this Pres speak? Have you read his posts? Convenient selective memory. But hey- at least the sycophancy to a dictator gets you a TikTok allocation, right A16Z?

A Charlie Kirk episode?
I am unfollowing this show. I started to listen to this episode thinking that I’d be presented with an accurate description of reality or at least thought-provoking points, but it began as cultish adoration. Dying from a bullet does not make a bad person good. There are real martyrs & heroes on earth- Charlie Kirk was not & will never be in that category. Also, to hear such blasphemous words coming from the mouth of a female- her cult leader instructed her to be home with her mouth shut.

Please return to tech podcasting
The Charlie Kirk episode was personal, political and devoid of technology. There are other episodes that feel manipulative rather than educational. I dislike the political, directional changes.

Love the show, but no more Noah Smith or other hacks
Love listening to these episodes. Insightful, objective, and leading edge. Please don’t include Noah Smith on any future episodes because his appearance on the recent episode regarding tariffs was really unfortunate. His command of economics is clearly limited, including his citations of wonks like Paul Krugman. From the start, he was antagonistic, condescending, and disrespectful to Oren Cass, who was diplomatic and polite. Noah Smith was an assistant professor at a no-name university and now won’t get hired by elite schools of economics like Chicago Booth or MIT Sloan. He wanted to state the two-way benefits of no-tariff trade, rooted in Milton Friedman’s research that complemented David Ricardo’s research, but the liberal in him couldn’t find the courage to say the name Milton Friedman out loud because he didn’t want to agree with him.

According to Marc A. The left hates the right but he makes no mention of the opposite (watch Fox News lately?) Robots and AI are the answer to everything and as soon as it all takes off, factories will be built all over rural America. Trickle down economics redux…BS.

Horrible
What is this? Horrible technology podcast that keeps sprinkling political commentary in the episodes. Smart people? Sure. Do I want to hear your opinions on history and politics? Absolutely not.

More right wing propaganda
This show was recommended to me as a deep dive into modern issues with a bit of perspective from investors. Turns out, it’s just right wing propaganda masked as intelligent dialogue. It’s not overt, but the racist attacks on a current New York City mayoral candidate in the most recent episode made it obvious who these people really are.

Silicon Reich🤮
think it’s absolutely sickening that this podcast, which I originally followed for insights into technology and startup culture, has revealed itself as a platform for bro fascism and technocratic authoritarianism. Instead of critically examining Doge and companies like Palantir which are actively complicit in surveillance, oppression, and even genocide, it is out here applauding them. This is how fascism creeps in, sanitized through TED Talk tones and startup worship, all in the name of efficiency. These people are not visionaries, they are just showing their complete lack of a moral compass. You are not just reporting on tech, you are co signing oppression. Disgusting.

Regrets?
Oh Marc, sweetie. You made a bad bet. It’s okay, it happens to all of us. You got so obsessed with being anti woke that you forgot to consider literally any other issue.
As we all watch our retirements disappear as the Trump Slump sets in amidst a pointless trade way, as our European allies feel us turn away and start to build up their supplies in what will surely be a new age of nuclear weapon proliferation, it’s time to say it: Marc, honey, this was a terrible choice.
It’s time to speak up, as an American, and admit this isn’t working. Don’t let your bruised ego override your common sense, we NEED you to speak up. Otherwise, this country will no longer be a place any of us will want to start a business.

conflict of interest
it’s pretty obvious that this company has heavily invested in AI and Crypto and it’s looking to justify the ROI. AI can’t solve world peace or bring egg prices or prevent spread of bird flu in California diaries

Funding Trump? Yuck. Unfollowing.
Used to enjoy these podcasts, but backing Trump makes the whole thing gross.

Absolute dumpster fire
Used to be a great podcast for insights on innovation, holistic disruptive thinking, and actual innovation. After a number of departures 2 or so years ago, everything has gone sideways. Has gone from a must listen to actively being counter productive to listen to. Such a shame. And such a waste that they’ve gone so far off the rails.

GenAI and address human behavior/violence
Excellent interview with Joon Park, thank you, your team at a16z is setting up a very important link between human behavior and generative AI, digital/interpretive behavioral modeling and other types of large language processing designs to close the gap between the vast complexity of neurobiological processes that leads to specific behavioral expressions and codifying and encapsulating that in a generative AI system, looking forward to more of those types of episodes that also address specific behavior such as violence and anger and aggression to highlight research teams around the world working on better understanding of how to intervene and treat aggressive behavior in order to create more peaceful individual and societal behavior.

Always good, getting better!
Love the three part series on the AI revolution. Just listed to the 2nd part (third not out yet) and the conversation form folks doing the work like Mira (OpenAI) and others from Roblox and Anthropic is great. Deeper is better and a series let’s you do that better than a single podcast.

Fascinating podcast
I’m amazed at how much I learn from this podcast and its breadth of subjects. I’m a long-time technologist from computing and aerospace domains, which are now so broad that it’s hard to wrap your mind around them. The recent “satellite economy” series particularly surprised me in the amount of depth brought to important aspect of the subject.

Great window into the future of tech
As someone outside the tech industry but interested in developments, this podcast is a great window into what is happening. There is enough detail to develop understanding without knowing all the jargon. It helps me see into other industries and connect more dots.
