Tobias Bauer is the Partner of Blockchain Founders Fund which invests in top-tier startups in the Web3 space, where he started as an Associate 4 years ago. I had the amazing opportunity to interview Karuna Rawal, the lead strategist of the #LikeAGirl Campaign that won an Emmy Award and 14 Lions at the Cannes Film Festival in 2015. Karuna started her career in Marketing for Financial Services but very quickly moved to P&G, where she worked for 10 years. After that she moved to Leo Burnett where she worked on the infamous ad for the P&G Always #LikeaGirl Campaign that won over 40 industry awards including Emmy for Outstanding commercial, global Effies, Grand Clio and D&AD Black Pencil. She is currently the CMO and CRO of Nature’s Fynd. Nature’s Fynd is a Chicago-based food tech company that is creating Fy - an alternative protein to feed the world’s growing population while nurturing the planet. The company was born out of research conducted for NASA on microbes in Yellowstone National Park. The company’s fermentation technology produces a complete vegan protein using only a fraction of the resources required by traditional agriculture. The company has raised $500M to date and was Chicago's 10th unicorn for 2021.

I had the amazing opportunity to interview Geoffrey See, the CEO of Poko a Y-Combinator backed company. Geoffrey started his career with Bain, and then very quickly founded Choson Exchange, a not-for-profit where he trained thousands of female entrepreneurs in North Korea on how to run businesses. His work also led him to become a protagonist for a Harvard Business School Case Study. While he was in North Korea, he also understood the importance of financial inclusion and got introduced to the world of crypto. In 2018, he drove the launch and go-to-market strategy for a blockchain that led to the formation of a regulated private exchange HG Exchange that partially exited to Binance. Now with Poko, he aims to improve the payments infrastructure within web3 particularly when it comes to gaming.

I had the amazing opportunity to interview Alexandra Khasirdzheva, the Investment Manager at Cointelegraph Accelerator, who was also previously also the Vice President of Strategy at Cointelegraph Consulting. Alexandra started her career in media with interviewing thought leaders and founders in the Middle East in 2015 when the startup ecosystem was in its nascent stage. She then launched an accelerator to connect startups to corporations.    That was when she got introduced to the blockchain space, working with a company to provide services to the government. And from there she eventually moved in to Cointelegraph. Alexandra is also a World Economic Forum Global Shaper, which is an extremely prestigious network of young leaders driving change in their local cities.      In this interview, we talk more about her journey, her experience of being a Global Shaper, her perception on Dubai being a crypto hub, her take on the crypto industry post the crypto contagion of 2022 as well as, interesting projects she has seen and is excited about for the future.

I had the amazing opportunity to interview Simi Shah, the Founder and CEO of Trailblazers, a content platform and community that highlights the stories of leading South Asians having hosted guests like the founder of ClassPass Payal Kadakia, Kal Penn and Aparna Shewakramani from Indian Matchmaking.    Simi most recently served as Chief of Staff to Indra Nooyi, the former Chairman and CEO of PepsiCo and the most prominent female-Indian origin CEO of a Fortune 500 company. Previously, she worked at a venture-backed media startup and at a PE fund.  She also served on the Board of of the Harvard Asian Alumni Association and remains one of eight elected Class Marshals representing her Harvard class.  In this interview she talks about her journey, her experience with working for Indra Nooyi, her motivation for starting Trailblazers and advice on building a brand.

I had the amazing opportunity to speak to Molly Bloom, who went from being an an Olympic-class skier to the operator of the largest underground poker game to the subject of an Oscar-nominated movie. Molly started her career as an athlete and then went on to become an operator of a high-stakes poker game frequented by some of the most powerful celebrities, athletes, Wall Street titans and CEOs, in the world. While running the games, she ran into trouble with the Russian mafia, lost all her money and almost went to prison. Despite that, she always kept her spirits up while maintaining an entrepreneurial mindset. At 35, she was a convicted felon and broke but she believed her story was her monetizable asset. She pitched her story to Aaron Sorkin who agreed to write it, and the movie received an Oscar nomination. She is now a highly sought-after speaker and is working on her own startup. In this interview, we talk about the community Molly started during COVID-19 through which we met. We also go over the journey we have had together where she has helped me work on my fears and improve my relationships with the people in my life, including and especially with my own self. She also talks about what leaning into your femininity means to her, her own journey of moving forward after losing everything, having agency in relationships and advice for young girls starting their careers.

I had the amazing opportunity to speak to Payal Shah, content creator and founder of L’Dezen, on her phygital NFT project. Payal started her career in architecture but very quickly found her calling in the jewellery industry. She founded her company L’Dezen just a year after graduating from university. Now 11 years later, her jewellery pieces are worn by some of the most famous people in the world including - Rihana, Mindy Kaling, Michelle Obama and Nick Jonas. And just this year, she also entered into the web3 space with the launch of her NFT earrings - Limitless earrings. In this interview, she talks about her journey starting from her jewellery business to her entry into web3. She also discusses the highs and lows she went through while building L’Dezen, what she looks for when building a team and she’s excited about working on next.
