Kruger of Ashland Track and Field joins the podcast ahead of the 2024 Great Midwest Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships.Kruger was a member of Team USA in three Summer Olympic Games (2004, 2008 and 2012). He also won 14 total United States national championships, indoor and outdoor combined.Prior to becoming head coach of the Ashland Eagles, Kruger served as the throws coach for NCAA Division I South Dakota's track and field program from 2015-22, a stint which included 2018 (outdoors) and 2022 (indoors and outdoors) Summit League women's team championships.More importantly, it was Kruger's relationship with the late Jud Logan that brought him back to Ashland in 2021. A.G. and Katie talk the Summer Olympics, his calling to come back to Ashland, who to watch for at the 2024 G-MAC Championships and more on this week's episode!

On Episode 120 of Talkin' G-MAC, Walsh's Interim Vice President for Athletics/Athletic Director Chrstina Paone joins the show in honor of National Girls and Women in Sports Day.An alumna of Walsh, she has served the University for more than 12 years in various capacities, including Senior Woman Administrator, Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Advisor, Sports Information Director, and Deputy Title IX Coordinator for Athletics. Currently, she also serves as the head coach of the men's and women's golf programs for the Cavaliers.Katie and Christina talk about her journey through athletics, what it means to be a woman in sports, and the future in her future goals at Walsh.

On Episode 118 of Talkin' G-MAC, Bill Ek joins Katie in honor of D2CCA Winter Officials' Appreciation Week. Bill serves as the Supervisor of Officials for men's basketball at the Great Midwest. Bill has been in the assigning space for 16 years including serving in his post at the G-MAC since the league's inception. In addition, Ek has been on the floor as an official for roughly 30 years. Now, officiating men's basketball games at the Division I level, mainly for the Big Ten Conference. Bill has also been selected to officiate in a number of NCAA men's basketball tournament games.In this week's episode, Katie and Bill talk about his journey through officiating, the passion for giving back and mentoring the next generation of officials, as well as how we can combat the issues pertaining to the officials shortage that has become a major issue at all levels of the sport.

In the 17th installment of Talkin' G-MAC, Katie is joined by former University of Findlay golfer Jill Schmitmeyer who, was named a top-30 finalist for the NCAA's 2023 Woman of the Year award.Jill tells us about her trip to the NCAA Convention where she got to spend time with the other finalist for the award and attend the Woman of the Year awards banquet.Katie and Jill also reflect on her time at Findlay which included a national championship and a plethora of individual accolades.

After a quick winter break, Katie is back with the first episode of 2024 to talk men's basketball with Trevecca Nazarene head coach Kevin Carroll. Carroll left another Nashville-based program in Lipscomb earlier this summer to accept the job on The Hill back in August. Since then, the Trojans have gotten off to a 5-0 start in G-MAC play. Trevecca will host Hillsdale and Northwood in a Thursday-Saturday home stand this weekend to try and keep the streak alive. Katie and Kevin talk life and basketball in this week's episode!

In Episode 114, Katie previews the Great Midwest wrestling season with Lake Erie head coach Boomer Fechko.On this week's episode, Fechko breaks down the Lake Erie wrestling regular season which started with an outstanding showing by the team at the Storm Quad Meet. Katie and Boomer also talk about the upcoming Great Midwest Wresting Championship Tournament.

In Episode 113, Katie chats with Ashland's head football coach Doug Geiser about the 2023 season and the Eagles upcoming appearance in the America's Crossroads Bowl.On this week's episode, Geiser talks about the Eagles' 1-3 start which ultimately led to finishing the regular season on a seven-game win streak. Katie and Doug also discussed Ashland's preperation for its matchup with McKendree in the fourth annual G-MAC/GLVC bowl game.The America's Crossroads Bowl will kick off from Hammon Central on Friday, Dec. 1, at 6 P.M. In Episode 112, Katie recaps the 2023 Great Midwest Men's and Women's Soccer Championships with winning head coaches Rudy Brownell and Michael Korhonen.On this week's episode, following a regular season and tournament championships, Rudy Brownell and his Tiffin Dragons were awarded the No. 1 seed in Super Region Three. Brownell looks back on the G-MAC tournament as the Dragons look ahead to hosting their NCAA Tournament match up next week.Katie also chats with Northwood's first-year head coach Michael Korhonen about the Timberwolves journey on the pitch this season and their exciting finish during the G-MAC Championship game.
