On Episode 118 of Talkin' G-MAC, Bill Ek joins Katie in honor of D2CCA Winter Officials' Appreciation Week. Bill serves as the Supervisor of Officials for men's basketball at the Great Midwest. 
Bill has been in the assigning space for 16 years including serving in his post at the G-MAC since the league's inception. In addition, Ek has been on the floor as an official for roughly 30 years. Now, officiating men's basketball games at the Division I level, mainly for the Big Ten Conference. Bill has also been selected to officiate in a number of NCAA men's basketball tournament games.
In this week's episode, Katie and Bill talk about his journey through officiating, the passion for giving back and mentoring the next generation of officials, as well as how we can combat the issues pertaining to the officials shortage that has become a major issue at all levels of the sport.
