Episode 14: Stephen "Wonderboy" Thompson - What is it like to be a fighter
What an unbelievable guest I am talking to on this episode. I have the privilege to talk to the number 6 ranked welterweight in the world and UFC fighter Stephen "Wonderboy" Thompson. It is was an absolute honour in talking to one of the best fighters in the world. And one thing I should say, the person Wonderboy is on TV or in fights is 100% genuine, which results in him being regarded as the NMF of the UFC. He is such a nice and down to earth guy and that was seen throughout this episode. In this episode, I have unbelievable talk with Wonderboy about his life, career as a fighter in the UFC and how he became the fighter he is today. This would be the 3rd time I got to talk to him, as I got to meet him twice before once in Vegas in 2016 and most recently this August in Cork. And you wouldn't believe, when I was looking for him to come on to the podcast he actually remembered me from the past two experiences meeting him. Which was mad really, it is crazy how life goes around full circle. It was actually, a fellow Irishman that helped organise our talk. Mark Rooney who is head of partnerships with Paradigm Sports, helped me get in contact with Wonderboy which I was very much appreciative of.

Bas kept busy after retiring from fighting professionally, we went on to coach many fighters and has a successful acting career where he has appeared in many TV Series and Movies, in such movies he appeared alongside actors such as Kevin James, Henry Winkler among many others. It was unbelievable to talk to Bas and have a great discussion about his MMA & acting career. Being the massive MMA fan that I am, it was insane to talk to such a legend of the sport. He gave great insight into MMA, his career, the changes in the sport, and the whole area of MMA. We then went on to talk about his transition into acting after retiring, which was great.
