The portrayal of Leeds in The Last Kingdom has always interested me, it &nbsp;seems so sparse. I decided to scour my bookshelves to try and find out &nbsp;what the land in and around Loidis would have been like as Ragnar The &nbsp;Fearless arrives on the scene in the 9th Century......according to the &nbsp;fictional tale The Last Kingdom of course. There are a few minor &nbsp;spoilers so I would avoid viewing until you have watched the first &nbsp;episode of the show. &nbsp;

William the Conqueror and the Harrying of the North

Join me for historical tales from the iron age through to the emergence of gunpowder (I lose interest then). 

I research my stories based around a peculiar event or a character that amuses me. What develops from there can often lead to some surprising tales and some interesting perspectives to well known events.
