I’ve been a Squawk Box and Squawk Pod listener for years. The appeal was always the same: smart, skeptical business journalism that took markets seriously, pressed powerful people on their numbers, and didn’t let politicians or CEOs skate by on vibes. Becky Quick asking the uncomfortable follow-up. Andrew Ross Sorkin cross-referencing what a guest just said with what they wrote in their last shareholder letter. Even Joe Kernen, at his best, played a useful role — the contrarian who made guests defend their assumptions. That show is gone. What’s replaced it is something much closer to a morning affirmation podcast for the current administration. Tariff policy that economists across the ideological spectrum — including conservative ones — have called economically illiterate gets framed as bold negotiating. Executive actions that legal scholars are openly describing as unconstitutional get a shrug and a pivot to “but what does this mean for equities?” Market volatility caused directly by erratic policy decisions gets blamed on everything except the policy. Guests who try to raise actual concerns get talked over or hustled off to commercial. Guests who cheerlead get extended runway and warm laughs. Joe Kernen has been the most disappointing part of the slide. He used to push back on everyone — Democrats, Republicans, CEOs, fund managers. Now the pushback flows in exactly one direction, and the cheerleading flows in exactly the other. It’s not contrarianism anymore. Its alignment dressed up as contrarianism. I’m not asking CNBC to become an opposition outlet. I’m asking it to be what it used to be: a business network that follows the money and the law wherever they go, and treats every administration — every CEO, every fund, every politician — with the same skeptical eye. That’s the entire value proposition. Without it, this is just LinkedIn with better audio. I’ll be getting my market news from outlets that still remember journalism is a job, not a courtesy. Unsubscribed.

I used to love this show. Joe makes it un-listenable/un-watchable lately. Kudos to Becky and Aaron for working so hard to dance around the partisanship and his moods. On to another show unfortunately…..

Good to have Andrew Yang on. Interesting that he thinks deal breaker is Tisch departure.

Joe “MAGA”Kernan might as well start working for Karoline Leavitt as her assistant… Becky Quick never has the backbone to stand up to Joe to counter his viewpoints. Such a horrible show!!

This has been my favorite podcast for quite a while. It has very useful information, provided concisely, yet with just light enough to not be boring. Here’s the BUT, I find the 5 things to know a pain. It just clutters the feed and often gets in the way when I automatically move to the next podcast in my queue.

This was a great disappointment to hear the POTUS ramble on without answering a single question that was posed to him on 8/5/2025. The show hosts did nothing to curtail his self aggrandizing rambles and hold him accountable.

Perfect balance between all three. I am glad someone out there still has the journalistic integrity to report from multiple perspectives. There are too many echo chambers in media today. Current media is probably closer to the pamphlets of propaganda of the colonial period - we’ve slid backward as a society. This show is like an ice pick with purchase into a glacial wall while an avalanche of garbage talking heads threatens to dislodge us into the great idiocracy oblivion.

The decision to indicate a stock, index or interest rate up movement with green arrow pointing down is as poor as the decision to show a down movment with a red arrow pointing up.

I gave this 1-star because of Joe Kernen. Squawk Pod is better than the actual CNBC show in some ways, because it is edited to be concise. I cannot watch the 3-hour live version because of Joe Kernen. He completely lacks professionalism. Joe always interrupts and talks over guests. He is also way too politically opinionated, which is a huge turnoff on a business program. Fortunately, listeners get less Joe Kernen in this abridged podcast format. This CNBC podcast releases its episodes well after the cable show airs. So we get premarket info after the market opens.

Thanks to CNBC by allowing Joe Kernan to voice his conservative opinion. I would never listen to Squawk Pod or watch Squawk Box if Joe weren’t there providing balanced discussion and debate - unlike main stream media. Thanks Joe you say exactly what I’m thinking!

Andrew and Becky are great, Joe not so much.

Joe is so incredibly ignorant and rude to everyone, shouting people down, talking over any woman who comes on the show, especially Becky. Please take him off the show and podcast, Joe is just deep fried MAGA. Or give 5 minutes of each show just to rant ala Andy Rooney on 60 Minutes.

Hate the new intro it’s slow and not as interesting as the original

Love the show but I do not understand why it’s so short when the show is 3 hours long. Long form podcasts are everywhere now so there is no reason to make it just a recap

I used to listen to this show while getting ready for work practically every day. Not anymore. Joe Kernen has turned this show into a propaganda machine. Even his invited guests spend less time talking about the markets and financial news than about a political agenda. I’d rather catch Frank Holland on Worldwide Exchange earlier in the morning and then skip to Squawk On the Street 3 hours later. I’m looking for financial news. If you’re looking for right wing political poison, Joe’s your man. But this show’s a thousand times more informative when Joe’s out.

Pushing Ritchie Torres as an expert on anything shows CNBC is biased towards Israeli propaganda. No thanks.

I loved this show, and if I was unable to catch it in the mornings, the podcast was always the next best thing, but it has defaulted into Joe Kernan just screaming over the top of anybody that disagrees with him. I miss the actual business news and can do without the politics opinion piece.

I would love to hear about economics and stocks. Instead I have to listen to MAGA Joe interrupting everyone, spouting his political nonsense. I used to really respect him. Now it is nonstop MAGA deep state conspiracies with occasional market insight. The show is better when he is on vacation.

Best macro financial show on air. Great variety of guests and genuine curiosity of subject matter. Becky awesome as always in every way. I enjoy the balance of Andrew’s clear liberal thoughts with Joe’s conservative principles. It’s rare to have a show with both. Too often shows only have one side. I agree more often with Joe but learn so much from Andrew…. It’s what civility between friends should be.

This isn’t news. Just unsubstantiated conservative dog whistles.

Great way to start the day! The interviews are top notch and it wouldn’t disappoint me to see the show lengthened. Such a downer when you know who starts spewing at 7:00 am MST. That’s when the control goes to MUTE. Live your show keep up the good work!

I used to like this show, but the biased arguing about politics is ruining it for me. I skip most episodes now. I’m not liberal, but it’s difficult to listen to Joe talk over and yell at every guest who doesn’t believe in conspiracy theories or stolen elections. Some of us actually want to hear different views instead of lies and hand-picking their own truths.

Informative. Insightful discussions from various perspectives. Leading executives, experts and thought leaders. Provocative discussions.

Follow and listen for fat-left/Trump hatefulness news. Wish they could just be objective with their reports. Everyone featured is just a staunch Trump hater and nothing he could do or ever did is ok or good. Too bad.

A great summary of the financial and political news that shapes our world. Balanced hosts that sprinkle in some pop culture for fun.

1 star for production, 1 for content, 1 for Becky, and 1 for Andrew. Joe is a fast forward segment, he speaks over guests and with a level of arrogance that benefits no debate. It’s such a value to have a show that is quite centered and displays bipartisan views but Joe truly ruins it. Just skip his segments, you can’t learn from him because you can’t hear the guest.

Becky is excellent because she asks good questions and allows the guest to respond. Andrew asks good questions but interrupts the guest before they can fully answer. I sometimes wonder why the guest is even on. How is the definition of conservative. If he was born in the days of horse and buggy, we would not have cars

This is truly the best morning show around. Andrew and Becky are great but Joe is the secret sauce that makes the show outstanding. When Joe is off, it’s just not the same. I enjoy the banter and irreverence. They all call it like it is.

If you constantly interrupt your guests with your own opinions you are not a good interviewer, Joe K. If you want to be the loudest voice in the room go get your own show. He really detracts from the other good guests and content.

If you’re looking for New York elites out of touch with America this is the best place to go for financial information. They regularly report false information about companies, situations and people.

The female host is unbearable. The dei hire pod team leaves in the talking from tv show edition that the tv editors take out. If you keep giving unskilled unlikable people top jobs don’t be surprised when the networks die.

I’m a huge fan. I enjoy the political banter between Andrew and joe. And I laugh when Becky jumps in to make peace. Joe is the smartest republican around and I sometimes even agree with him. But Andrew is always right in the mark. Keep it up guys.

Moving to Bloomberg for early morning TV. Can’t watch hypocrisy of the male presenter today comments about Santos. Not much said when people pretend they are American Indians. Boring show

Love this podcast - especially as someone who lives on the West Coast and can’t always catch the full show. The podcast’s content and length is perfect. I enjoy the balance of the anchor’s perspectives. Becky’s classy and old-school “just the news” approach is a breath of fresh air in the modern world of journalism.

This Podcast has generally great content and commentators. Unfortunately they have the rude habitat of constantly talking over each other. I very much want to listen to them but I simply cannot stand their continual interruptions of each other and talking over each other. Where has the professionalism gone? Please win me back!

I used to listen to this podcast regularly but it seems like in the past year, the hosts talk over each other and don’t really get a point across without interruption. Lack of structure and flow has made me lose interest as I find it hard to follow.

Just enough Joe, “Beck”, and Sorkin to keep me tuned in to the news of the day and get a few laughs from their casual banter. Look forward to listening on my commute home every day.

I wish the hosts wouldn’t talk over one/past one another. There is a tendency not to listen to and consider one another points. Almost ready to pull the plug. Becky has excellent points she tries to make but often gets drowned out or cut short by Joe (mostly) and Andrew (to a lesser extent). Come on guys! This doesn’t have to be The McLaughlin Group. Please be more respectful of one another.
