Every Halloween, students at Foxcroft School in rural Loudoun County, Virginia, gather to hear an old ghost story that has been passed down through generations. The tale concerns a mysterious woman known as Mrs. Kyle, whose restless spirit is said to haunt an old brick house on the school's sprawling campus. For years, students and faculty have reported unexplained footsteps, strange noises, and the unsettling feeling that someone is following them along the narrow staircase leading to the attic. But according to the school's founder, Charlotte Haxall Noland, there may have been more to these encounters than a simple haunting, and the story of Mrs. Kyle's tragic death would eventually take a rather unexpected turn.Want to Listen to Southern Gothic Ad-Free?
