Gissella ha dedicated to promote Artificial Intelligence potential even before it was a boom. Her research has focused on machine learning for Smart Cities' problems such as public transportation optimization, water consumption prediction and energy disaggregation. In this episode she talks about the beginning of her journey in AI and the importance of its adoption to join this technological revolution. She remarks it is a technology that should be design with experts in different fields and diversity.

Archana shares her experience as a social scientist, researching and working with startups. She discusses the startup ecosystem in India during her fieldwork, and how social scientists can offer a human-centered perspectives to startups that aspire to build disruptive and innovative solutions. 

We’ve decided to brainstorm how we can address the issue of contact tracing in areas with poor connectivity. In our countries, Peru and India, there are many areas with low network connectivity, but this may be the case in other countries too. We will introduce some contact tracing concepts and suggestions to show how our different  approaches as a psychologist, anthropologist and computer scientist can help us to offer a more nuanced perspective.

Mavi tells us about her dreams as a kid to control a robot arm with her mind. She transitioned from engineering to neuroscience and she just finished her Ph.D. in Cognitive Science at Binghamton University. Her research focuses on brain signals and hallucinations.
