You Can Plan How You Communicate Before You're Actually Angry
Anyone communicate well when angry? Yeah, me neither! Plan ahead what you can say while you're calm, so that you can control what you say when you're...not calm. A couple I use:"That's fair.""What I hear you saying is...""You feel ___ because ___."And the goal is to actually say them (genuinely), so when you get that spark of a realization, be brave enough to say it.

Let Your Kids be Disappointed
"Emotions need support, not solving" -Dr. Becky @drbeckyatgoodinsideHow do we help our kids through disappointment? Its not by shielding them and always preventing it. It's by showing up and helping them to label it and navigate through it. And it can start sooner than you think, so we have to learn to handle it ourselves before we can help them.

Are You Angry at Someone or Just the Situation?
I feel like my anger HAS to be directed at someONE. And I definitely don't want it directed at me, so it typically goes to those I love. But sometimes you can just be angry about a situation--and not someone! Separate it from a person, and you just might be able to focus on the solution.Anyone else do this, or is it just me?
