Opening Song:Lament by Audrey Assad and Peter KipleyLyrics:I'm Mary and I'm Martha all at the same timeI'm sitting at His feetAnd yet I'm dying to be recognizedI am a picture of contentmentAnd I am dissatisfiedWhy is it easy to work but hard to rest sometimesSometimes sometimesI'm restless and I rustle like a thousand tall treesI'm twisting and I'm turning in an endless daydreamOh You wrestle me at nightAnd I wake in search of YouOh but try as I might I just can't catch YouBut I want to 'cause I need YouYeah I need YouI can't catch You but I want toOoo how long how long until I'm home'Cause I'm so tired so tired of runningOoo how long how long until I'm home'Cause I'm so tired so tired of runningOoo how long until You come for me'Cause I'm so tired so tired of runningOoo how long until You come for me'Cause I'm so tired so tired of runningYeah I'm so tired so tired of runningI'm so tired so tired of runningPassage: 38 Now as they went on their way, Jesus entered a village. And a woman named Martha welcomed him into her house. 39 And she had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet and listened to his teaching. 40 But Martha was distracted with much serving. And she went up to him and said, “Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me.” 41 But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, 42 but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.”(Luke Musical Reflection: Harp Meditation No. 2 by Gretchen KirbyReflection Notes: This modal meditation centers around an intervallic pattern in the right hand that is anchored by deep bass octaves in the left hand and occasional supportive harmonies. Though somewhat haunting, the melodic motif provokes reflection. Prayer:O God, you declare your almighty power chiefly in showing mercy and pity: Grant us the fullness of your grace, that we, running to obtain your promises, may become partakers of your heavenly treasure; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
