In a few short years, we’ve moved from a time when brands and big companies had all the power to the consumer being in the driver’s seat where she belongs.
Clif Dickens is a graphic designer who has captured a lot of attention recently for his website honestslogans which brilliantly and artistically highlights what some people secretly think about their experience with a brand.
Is it what brands want to hear? No, probably not. But we actually think what Clif Dickens and Honest Slogans are doing is a bit of a service to the very brands he lampoons.
I think or I like to hope that most PR people want their brands to serve their target audience as meaningfully as possible. Honest Slogans provides all brands the opportunity to ask themselves “what would our ‘honest slogan’ be and how can we fix the problem before we end up wearing it??
In this episode, we’ll talk about the rise of social media, marketing to Millennials and how a joke started between friends at lunch one day can turn into Honest Slogans, loved by some, feared by others but, regardless, on a lot of people’s radar screens. Speaking of being on people’s radar screens, his work has been getting lots and lots of media hits recently.
