Personal branding is why they choose you. All about committing, and communicating how personally brandtastic you are. [00:00:42] content marketing is putting content out there that elevates your brand, gets brand exposure for you, and possibly gets lead generation and then revenue. Why is that important in a world where we are bombarded with marketing and messaging all the time? [00:02:07] You need to have a really good understanding of your audience. You need to target where you're going to be putting that content so it has a better chance of being seen and heard. AI-generated content is a good tool to use to help create content. But I wouldn't rely 100% on it. [00:06:10] Chat GPT only goes up to 2021 in terms of the data that it can tap into. That's a huge mistake. If you're going to rely on it in any way, shape or form, you need to do fact-checking before you publish anything. [00:07:49] Apart from AI, what other trends are you seeing in content marketing? You don't have to be everywhere, so you have to pick the platforms that work for you. Chat Gbt is going to dominate content marketing for the foreseeable future. [00:11:30] What is a good cadence for content marketing? It depends on the resources you have and that could be financial and human resources or technology. If you're not producing content on a regular basis then what's the point? Content can be repurposed for different platforms. [00:13:38] I am a huge advocate for quality over quantity. It just doesn't make sense to put out ten posts a day. And the thing is, I put out several blog posts, and several social media posts per week, but I schedule them all in advance. [00:15:34] What about the engagement side of content marketing? I do think it's important to respond within a reasonable amount of time. There are ways you can look at things like that and say, what do I need to do? [00:18:21] What should somebody be doing around measuring the effectiveness of their content marketing? Engagement is a very, very good measure. Google Analytics is a great tool in terms of trying to figure out who's coming to your website. Plenty of technology can do that analysis for you, depending on the platform. [00:21:11] You really need to be seen as a resource for people in your niche, your industry. If you're in commercial real estate, for instance, and you're catering to people who are investors, then you need to create content aimed at those investors. And they may or may not be evergreen topics. [00:22:47] What is an evergreen piece of content versus something else that's maybe more timely? What is a bank? Is an example of something that you may need to update later with more current statistics. enlightenment, education, and entertainment. Sounds like a ready formula for at least producing content that might get more engagement. [00:24:29] The Strip Down guides content marketing success. Secrets for Beginners is kind of A to Z in terms of content marketing. It's not meant to be a high-level academic type book, but more of a guide. Focus on the quality and don't worry about putting out ten blog posts a day. [00:27:17] You don't have to have a technical level of expertise in SEO to incorporate it into your content marketing strategy. Search engine optimization basically is saying, hey, here are some keywords that people use. You want your content to surface on the first page of search results. [00:33:08] There's no consensus on when to post on LinkedIn. Is there an optimal number of words for a particular article? More people are now looking at LinkedIn on Saturdays and Sundays. You need to figure out where people are in terms of their day. [00:36:26] Derek: Warren Buffett is a great example of somebody who knows what he's about. He says we could all strive to be a little bit more like Buffett. Derek: Who is your favorite personal brand and why? [00:38:14] I absorb information more along those lines than I do from a book or a podcast. I spend a lot of time on Google News and places like that where I can find out what's going on. Good newsletters know how to strike a balance and keep people coming back for more. [00:41:40] Do you use canva at all? I create all sorts of social media posts with Canva. It's so easy to use, and you do not have to be a graphic designer to wrap your head around how to use it. Do you have a new technology that you're enjoying? [00:42:52] One of the things I learned at one of the startups I worked at is to fail Quickly. If it's not working, at some point you've got to let it go. Figure out what didn't work, and then move on to something that is going to yield better results. [00:44:20] My book is available on Amazon. In fact, as we speak, we're finalizing the audiobook version, which is coming out very soon. Right now it's available in paperback, hardcover, and ebook versions. You can also find out more information about the book or about me on my website. [00:45:08] John, was that fantastic? Did it give you some ideas and actions that you can take right now to build your business? So get to it. Thank you for listening and have a fantastic day. "It is the cornerstone, the foundation of one's either success or lack thereof. And what does that mean? It means to a person, each successful individual I studied had most importantly, a flexible mindset." Brian Kelly is an entrepreneur and host of the Mind Body Business Show, who has studied successful entrepreneurs and identified the three pillars of success: mindset, body, and business. He believes that building personal relationships is the common denominator for success in any business. After studying successful entrepreneurs, Brian found that a flexible mindset, physical and nutritional health, and mastering various skill sets were the commonalities among them. He learned the importance of building personal relationships and found that the long-term relationships he built had both a professional and personal payoff. He passed along the importance of being honest and upfront in communication and of helping others, regardless of what one may get in return. Brian discovered that the key to success was in the relationships. In this episode, you will learn the following: 1. What are the three pillars of success shared by successful entrepreneurs? 2. How can building personal relationships be a successful marketing approach? 3. How can entrepreneurs reach out to potential customers in an effective way? From guessing, possibly sunny Los Angeles, but maybe not at the moment. It's sunny. Yes, wonderful. [00:00:08] Paul: In studying successful entrepreneurs, I found three pillars of success. One was the mindset. Another was taking care of themselves physically and nutritionally. Third was business multi multifaceted. All you need to do is find one recipe for success. [00:02:27] Flexibility, having the flexibility to shift one's mindset as quickly as possible from that negative emotion into something that better serves you. You can either let circumstances control your attitude or you can let your attitude dictate your circumstances. [00:03:42] Not every successful entrepreneur is a good mentor. You want somebody that you know internally, deeply my mentor. Be very discerning when you choose a mentor. [00:06:50] And you mentioned earlier you touched on values, and I think that's important. Is it that we find people who have similar values? Because otherwise, I've always said to people, if you compromise a value, that's like a kick in the gut every time. [00:07:30] What used to work ten years ago doesn't necessarily work now. With one exception, the common denominator that has worked every year is building personal relationships. Now we're at a point where speaking but on camera has also become a very good form of marketing. [00:09:02] What is working right now? And that means being on a live video show or a podcast. It's about showing up and getting exposure that way. That is the number one marketing approach I have seen and witnessed. [00:09:51] When I have a guest on my show, they're typically strategically picked that maybe and in the future I could do business with them. It's about getting to know them, period. If you go about it without the transactional attitude, in my own opinion, then you can build that deeper relationship. [00:14:44] The first thing when you talk to somebody, I forget the icebreaker. First, you need to do X-Y-Z. It's the message that is gold. The next step is to build that relationship. And it's through direct messaging. [00:17:36] Live video is a great way to get exposure for a real estate investor. It's a different dynamic with live. There isn't as much pressure to really bring great value live. Not everybody is going to like you, sorry to tell you. [00:21:25] When you're feeling that feeling, that kind of feeling right there, that fear is usually something telling you that it's what you should be doing. Start shooting shows right now. Know that you will probably suck in the beginning. But don't let any of this deter you. Every show you do, you get better. [00:24:30] Brian, when you go live, do you put that out to multiple at the same time? Live, yes. For me, the main goal is massive exposure. I focus everything I've got on my guest. [00:25:52] A high-quality professional live video show. I have a massive amount of automation built in. Most of that is for communicating with the guest leading up to the show. Then the post-show processing. I've come across three companies in the last six months that have all transformed how I'm producing my podcast. [00:30:37] Paul: I've done this show for a long time, my own show. He developed an agency model where you do it for them. All manually, zero automation. The only thing the person has to do is be present and focus on the guest. The results are phenomenal. [00:35:03] Some real estate investors do things like Zoom Webinars or even now we're coming out of the other side of the pandemic is doing live events again. Are you talking more about a kind of one on one studio interview type of setup or do all three? [00:37:10] Grant Cardone is a favorite personal brand because he is authentic as a human can be. Peak Connector is a CRM on steroids. Do you have a recommended book or podcast? [00:41:04] Brian Kelly: Do you have a favorite quote or a quote that inspires you or motivates you? The one thing I learned is this one thing and that is never ever giving up. How can people find out more about you? Lots of ways. [00:43:22] The Peak Club is free to join, with no monthly fee. The enterprise version includes 500-seat meetings, 500-seat webinars, and unlimited recording to the cloud. For anyone who enters, I added this too. You'll get a hotel discount card. [00:45:05] Carol Costello: If your son is looking to have a web presence, there's a company out of Oregon called Carrot. They write an SEO article for you every week. It's all geared towards cash, buying homes for cash. What about a real estate mentor? How can I help you? [00:49:07] As soon as I changed the name, audience numbers went up. That's something I've also heard about, is the importance of the name. There are other resources out there. It's not about the vanity number. [00:49:43] When you bring on a guest, as they're coming on, they get the option to choose amongst their own social media platforms. StreamYard has just eliminated a big headache. There's a new feature coming out, brother. You got to get on this live video thing.

It is important for businesses to have a website as it is a crucial marketing tool. This is especially true in the age of social media, where potential clients will check out a company's website to learn more about them. It is important to make sure that your website is professional and friendly in order to appeal to your ideal client. Your website should also be easy to navigate, with clear and concise messaging. People consume content differently so ensure you have a balance of video and text on your website and have clear calls to action throughout the page. Real estate agents may want to focus on generating phone calls, but it can be helpful to test different channels to collect leads. But often people don't update their websites (or even have one in the first place), sometimes due to the perceived cost or difficulty of doing so. The increasing complexity of software like WordPress can be problematic for users who are not familiar with web design. But there is a solution. This week's podcast guest, Lindy Nowak, shares how to create an effective website, with the one-page scrolling format. They stress the importance of keeping the amount of content on the home page to a minimum and having clear messaging that is focused on making a sale, rather than being all about the brand. Lindy suggests including a video on the home page, as well as a list of services, and below that, filling in with additional content such as an Instagram feed. It is also crucial to have beautiful imagery and a professional headshot on your website. They advise that if you want to include a call to action (CTA) on your website, you should make sure that it is consistent and that it is placed in a spot (or spots) where people will see it. They also advise that you test different lead magnets and see what works best for your website visitors.
