He’s known for his Tamil devotional compositions on lord Krishna (including the popular Alaipaayuthe, Thaaye yesodaa (തായേ യശോദാ), Kuzhaloothi manamellaam, Paal vadiyum mukham), Navavarana kritis and many other gems. ഉണ്ണിമേനോന്റെ, പാഞ്ചജന്യം എന്ന ആൽബത്തിലെ ഗാനമാണ്. പെരുമ്പാവൂര്‍ ജി രവീന്ദ്രനാഥ്‌ ആണ് സംഗീതം. ഇതിലെ രാഗത്തിന് (ലവംഗി - Lavangi) ഒരു പ്രത്യേകതയുണ്ട് - വെറും 4 സ്വരങ്ങൾ മാത്രമേ ഇതിൽ ഉള്ളൂ. Ragas with just 4 notes are extremely rare - mainly because it's very difficult to compose a full song with those restrictions. Carnatic music maestro M Balamuralikrishna is credited with creating/popularizing this raga. രവീന്ദ്രൻ മാഷ് കിഴക്കുണരും പക്ഷിയിൽ 'അരുണ കിരണമണിയും' എന്ന ഗാനം base ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നത് ലവംഗിയിലാണ്. നഖക്ഷതങ്ങളിലെ 'വ്രീളാഭരിതയായ് വീണ്ടുമൊരു പുലർവേള' എന്ന കവിതയും ലവംഗിയാണ്.
