This is less than a quarter of an hour, give or take every week, about my creative journey as both poet and writer. It's guaranteed to include at least two things I've written over five years (and there is a lot to get through) plus undoubted wibbling on why I've always wanted to do this, and by *this* I mean write stuff that makes me happy...
#017: The 'Incantatrix' Special
Earlier this year, I sent four poems off for a submission and assumed, erroneously, that because I'd not heard back that I'd not been successful. Here's the story of a tiny pamphlet, several moments of sheer, unadulterated brilliance and how it is high time I stopped trying to be something that I am most definitely never going to be. This includes two of the four poems included in the brilliant 'incantatrix' which also includes work by Claire Askew, Stella Hervey Birrell and Madelyn Burnhope, amongst others. This is also your scheduled reminder that the podcast continues to contain swearing, mental health issues and production values which will, I promise, improve significantly when you hear it next. Thanks for reading this far.

#016: More than Words
We're back to Normal Service (such as it exists) with this being the last episode in which #NaPoWriMo poems are included. Starting next week... we'll do something different. For now however, we're all about the video, and three projects coming up across the next couple of months. We also have a chat about how I need a 20-minute warm-up for most things to go well. As promised, here's a link to the Estuary Premiere: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GjXseLKvt9s This is also your scheduled reminder that the podcast continues to contain swearing, mental health issues and production values which will, I promise, improve significantly when you hear it next. #014: Against Convention
Episode Four already! I broke my own promise with this one and recorded on Publishing Day, but actually, this might have been a good idea. This week we are exploring my work/life balance, not wanting to be sick before (or after) performances any more, and how sometimes an unexpected compliment can change your entire outlook on a day. Oh yeah, and there are two more #NaPoWriMo poems as well. This is also your scheduled reminder that the podcast continues to contain swearing, mental health issues and production values which will, I promise, improve significantly when you hear it next. Thanks for reading this far.

#013: The Better Options
In the third episode of Season Two, it's all abut organizing my life and acknowledging the options that have been selected to move this journey forward. There's another two #NaPoWriMo poems, and also a bit of a Dean Wilson Love In, if truth be told. If you don't know the significance he's had in my poetic development, it is time to tell you a story about how an early morning writing exercise became a fantastic way to start each day. This is also your scheduled reminder that the podcast continues to contain swearing, mental health issues and production values which will, I promise, improve significantly when you hear it next. Thanks for reading this far.

#012: Confidence Grows
In the second episode of Season Two, we continue the #NaPoWriMo poems, but this time around there are concrete forms to consider, not just words in rigid placement, and we talk about that too. In fact, the whole episode is about how I'm finding my voice by not holding back: there are new adventures to be found and interesting possibilities as a 'Creative' appearing almost daily...  This is also your scheduled reminder that the podcast continues to contain swearing, mental health issues and production values which will, I promise, improve significantly when you hear it next. #011: Reset the Space
This is the beginning of Season Two, and a LOT has happened in the month or so I was away. I finally got my car back from the garage, the Office is now almost fully functional and there's a lot of poetry stuff too, but you'll need to listen to hear the details. This is the first of our shows with poetry for #NationalPoetryMonth and #NaPoWriMo. This is also your scheduled reminder that the podcast continues to contain swearing, mental health issues and production values which will, I promise, improve significantly when you hear it next. Thanks for reading this far.

#010: Double Figures
This is the end of Season One. I'll be back after my Open Mic performance on April 7th, and in this episode I explain why a break's been taken here. If you'd like to book tickets for it, Please Click Here. This is also your scheduled reminder that the podcast continues to contain swearing, mental health issues and production values which will, I promise, improve significantly when you hear it again. #009: New Beginnings
This was a tough record, because it made me think long and hard. What do you do when you got the dream start to your poetry existence, and suddenly it all goes wrong? How do you cope when there's nobody there to love your work and all that remains is the silence of repeated rejection? There are also two poems here from 2019 here, representing both ends of my mindset at the time, and the reminder to myself to go back with a kinder eye and revisit what happened before Lockdown. This is also your scheduled reminder that the podcast continues to contain swearing, mental health issues and production values which will, I promise, improve as time goes on. Thanks for reading this far.

#008: ...but what We Make
This time, there's the acknowledgement that the Places of Poetry Project was a lot more than just writing some poems and pinning them on a map. This body of work, like it or not, formed a vital part of 12 weeks of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, something I'm only now beginning to fully grasp. There are two more poems from the 'collection' too, including the one I was lucky enough to read on BBC 5Live. A reminder that the podcast continues to contain swearing, mental health issues and production values which will, I promise, improve as time goes on. Thanks for reading this far.
