Once in a blue moon there will be a good guest on with some cool info but mostly people who have a book to sell or documentary to sell. Also the intro sounds like it belongs on a haunted Halloween podcast to be honest , it’s a weird horror movie type build up ending with some creepy haunted doll type voices. Not a very good fit, kind of cringe.

The short version - Martin Willis somehow manages to get some really great guests to appear, but unfortunately the quality of his guests never equates to great interviews. 1. He never prepares for his guests by reading their books or doing competent interview preparation. 2. Martin never questions the legitimacy of his guest’s claims and fails to follow up when credibility issues arise in their conversation. 3. On several occasions, he was not even confident that his guests would turn up for a scheduled appearance, and freely admitted that in his broadcast. Why would you admit your own incompetence to your audience? Where was the pre-show effort to ensure that his guest was confirmed? 4. He frequently leaves his gaffs and blunders in the show, rather than edit them out, which is a waste of time and very inconsiderate of his audience. Even if the radio show is live, the podcast could be significantly better by just editing out the irrelevant and insignificant comments and errors made throughout. 5. His technical skills are atrocious, and rather than get help to improve the show, he blunders through, which also wastes time and shows how ill prepared he is prior to show recording. 6. Interview questions are often arbitrary and ill conceived, rather than well thought out and driving toward a point. The whole show just seems to blindly hop around without focus. 7. Martin never terminates the show with a good summation and wrap up. He very abruptly and unexpectedly just thanks the guest and terminates the interview in a single sentence. Very strange and again it highlights his lack of experience and skill as an interviewer. Hats off to Martin for his ability to lure decent talent to appear on his show. It’s hard to believe he’s been able to continue to convince those people who are in demand in the UFO/UAP community to appear on his show in spite of himself. As others have pointed out, they had hoped that as time passed, Martin would gain experience and the show would improve. C’mon, Martin, grab a bat and get in the game… Postscript Listen to Episode 544 from 58:00 to 1:01:00. This sums up everything, from his sophomoric questions at a high school level to his microphone failure, where he asks his guests to carry on while he goes off to fetch another microphone… Yes, equipment fails, but Martin fails to prepare or prevent problems and he is plagued by technical problems constantly. Simple question - when he knows technical difficulties WILL occur, why wouldn’t he have a spare mic ready to go at his desk, rather than leave his guests alone, fumbling to fill in while he goes “who knows where” to find another mic? That issue exemplifies Martin’s approach to his whole show. “Book the guests and hope for the best!”

I like Martin’s style and the empathy shown to his guests. He shows a questing spirit when presented with ideas & stories outside conventional understanding but retains his humanity through it all. He is learning about all of this and seeking understanding…as we all are.

This show has fantastic guests. Probably my favorite show about the ufo subject. Martin has been doing this for years.

I enjoy listening to this podcast. I understand that Martin is on a time bind due to the broadcast over a radio station. However, it seems like he and the guest are just getting into an interesting discussion when he has to has to close the show. I would like to listen to a longer discussion with guests who have much more to contribute.

Martin is a skilled interviewer who always coaxes the full story from his guests. He creates an environment that enables his guests to fully explain their experiences without fear of ridicule or derision. He doesn’t act as a judge instead leaving his audience to make their own minds up. That is, after all, what the show if for. Having said that he does pushback when the guest becomes too outlandish I have heard it. Great show Martin and please keep it up.

Martin Willis has never heard a UFO witness tale he didn't believe--with the possible exception of Bob Lazar. Martin's show is generally a parade of shills rehearsing their confabulated encounters with aliens, alien lizards, super-cool alien ships, or lurid abductions involving an alien speculum. It is understandable that poor Martin rarely permits skeptics or those with alternative explanations as his guests. They flummox and frustrate him, largely because he is not a critical thinker. The depth of Martin's scientific knowlege and logic is hopelessly sophomoric, at best. Because he lacks critical thinking skills, he permits his guests to escape inconsistencies with ease. His addled interview style is awkward and halting, copiously punctuated by "uh" and "wow." His technical skills border on the moronic. Ultimately, however, this is a religious show, and Ringmaster Martin welcomes all to the Big Top of Speculation and Fantasy. Here, devotees can genuflcect with no contradictory facts or skepticism to create doubt. This podcast is fully qualified to deserve mockery and ridicule.

I’ve been listening to your show religiously for a little more 3 years now and the only one complaint I have is your constant sliming of Bob Lazar. To the point where i feel your bias unfair assessment of his honesty is swayed by poor life choices he’s made. It shouldn’t detract from his experience while employed by the government who we all know has done more shady dealings than in one person ever has on this planet. I could go on for pages on how his description of the crafts he was exposed while employed by Uncle Sam are incredibly close to what Fravor described that it couldn’t possibly be a coincidence. Stop looking at the obvious red haring’s and look (logically I might add) at the similarities and you just might see the truth!!!!

Listened to episode 562. First episode ever. The guest was a complete moron. I’m not the brightest bulb in the box; but I was an intelligence analyst in the military for 6 years. Please, don’t talk about things like security clearances when you have obviously never held one. I turned it off after 30 minutes.

I’ve listened to this podcast for years, and it never improves. Martin Willis seems a nice enough guy, but he is a poor interviewer. He is seldom if ever prepared (ie doesn’t read books by the guests or do research) and fails to ask follow up questions-in fact, he often can’t recall their most recent comments. So good guests go to waste. And they arnt all good-some have 0 credibility. The show is also constantly plagued by technical difficulties. The secondary show of short historical stories, done by a different person, is excellent. I do appreciate the lack of commercials. Overall while the topic is interesting, don’t know how this show continues but apparently the bar is pretty low in this genre.

Fan of the show generally but these two dudes in do 544 haven’t a clue what their talking about. Total speculation and speaking well beyond their depth. It’s not beneficial to the audience for guests like these to speak about something as if they understand or know about the procedures etc that they speak of.

Excellent guests who include skeptics and abductees. Martin does his honest best to look at all angles on the topic. Highly recommended to anyone interested in the subject.

It’s very interesting content and so well narrated. But so short with a long intro. I guess that’s why there’s Patreon now.

Aside from mere longevity, i can’t understand how this podcast is so popular. I got into ufology a few years ago and this is probably my least favorite show because of the host. Martin can barely articulate sentence, and I’m surprised he’s able to turn his computer on. Seriously frustrating to listen to. To make matters worse, when Martin can’t host he gets morons like Dean Alioto to fill in for him! Look, i can’t stand woke stuff either, but Alioto’s jokes about gender and height were seriously distasteful and show just how deeply insecure this guy is. I’m through with this show!

Not actually objective sometimes. Seems like a spontaneous production without serious intent or direction. I keep coming back giving a chance, but I’m done this time.

I really enjoy your show but the idea that UFOs are actually time travelers is ridiculous to the point of parody. We know other planets exist because we can see them at night. Time travel is science fiction at this point. So it cannot form a rational explanation for something we know exists.

If you can tolerate the very occasional drifting away from the subject matter you might expect, and stay with it consistently the rewards are very real. Martin’s conversations can get off the rails and stay off them, but even when this happens it’s entertaining and informative.

No matter the subject we always here a thought provoking conversation. Thanks Martin, so much.

Why is it every freaking episode have issues. Could be Internet. Could be phones down. Could be a bunch of other things. Also, why would you broadcase from a boat if you might have bad internet or electricity outages or background noise where you have to mute. I dont thing its very unprofessional.

I am so conflicted. The content of this show is absolutely phenomenal, however, it is hands-down the worst editing, production, audio, error-filled podcast I’ve ever heard. I am astonished considering it is several hundred episodes in, yet still the worst. Martin, PLEASE, invest in higher quality…everything. It’s borderline unlistenable at times and that is almost criminal since the guests and content are a literally world changing level of importance.

If you’re just starting to understand this topic, this is the perfect podcast. No matter what the show is about Martin will always ask the individual to provide a little bit of their background... enough for you to understand what the rest of the conversation is going to be about or enough for you to go head and research and find for yourself so it all makes sense. No time wasted here! Great show, I’m hooked.

Willis doesn’t push any kooky agenda here. He works hard to bring a range of guests to his show that are sometimes exasperatingly edgy and sometimes steeped in hard science. It’s a nice mix and it works. None the topics covered seem to get old for Willis. He engages his guests and his audience with open-minded wonder.

I enjoy how each show the guests have different perspectives , and our “Host “ does not interrupt the guest, or have a condescending attitude. Just amazing amazing podcast.

If you have ever seriously considered joining a cult, then you will love this show.

There are very few podcast that cover this phenomenon in such an objective and thorough approach. This podcast is the gift that keeps giving. But I have one grievance. Martin Willis is superb but for some reason I find Alexandera Rojas to be very annoying.

Martin Willis sees this subject from an everyday mans perspective. He’s a good listener and allows the guest to tell their stories. He asks smart questions and IMO is a skeptic at heart.

Hands down the best UFO podcast out there, anywhere.

Martin’s demeanor as a host is exceptional. His gentleness and inquisitiveness with his guests is a terrific modality to draw the listener into the show. Just his phrase of “how about that”, is both genuine and no doubt expected by his audience as he plumbs the depths of the stories his presenters tell. Martin is an average guy with an above average thirst for knowledge on a topic that is currently getting much more attention than it has in the past.

Fun, insightful, and sexy.

I have been listening to Martin Willis almost since the beginning of his show. He is well prepared and his guests appear to be credible almost without exception. When he does have the rare guest who is obviously losing it on air, Martin has the know-how to pull them back to Earth and get the show back on track. Only once over the years have I heard a show where he had to dismiss the guest early and shut him down like a gentleman. The show is great, give it a try.

Martin is likeable but doesn’t know alot about the subject and isn’t the best interviewer. You had Jacques Vallee. And it sucked. As well as Seth Shostack. Another guy that you ask a simple question and he has no idea. Totally uninformed, coming from a casual observer. Stick to old furniture and slap Seth across the face. Maybe he’ll wake up.

I listen to both Martin and Alejandro regularly. Despite occasional technical issues I really value their good humor, interesting guests, and their stress on the need for reporting based on cases that have a good deal of validation. I hope they keep on keeping on!
