For as long as there's been jazz music, there's been jazz music in Montclair.
Long before the DLV Lounge was a venue for jazz music, it was a welcome home for musicians, and for the Black community as Montclair lived its own struggles and triumphs with integration. The lounge celebrated its 50th anniversary this month.
Owner George Marable, 83, and jazz historian Bruce Tyler sat down with Shane Paul Neil for the latest edition of "Our Montclair," Montclair Local's video and podcast series exploring the art, activism, culture and lived experience of Montclair.
