In this premiere episode of "Our Montclair," we speak to visual artist Armando "OutThere" Diaz and tapdancer Maurice Chestnut about their collaboration — the wordless short film "Rhythms for George." In the improvised film, Chestnut dances in front of a Montclair fence featuring the faces of people killed by police.

Tap was a medium borne out of slaves' need to communicate without their masters really understanding, Chestnut recalls. He says it's "ind of like hip-hop is today.”
