It’s May of 2000, and Antarctica is deep into its over 7-month winter. At the Amundson-Scott base, only the toughest researchers and workers remain to conduct their studies within the continent’s constant dark. Scientist Rodney Marks was one of them and was now spending his second whole winter on the ice. However, one night, he fell gravely ill and soon died without anyone knowing why. When his body was retrieved months later, and it was determined he was poisoned, questions arose around the circumstances, lifestyle, and possible motives for the only possible murder in Antarctic history.
