You can tell they aren’t involved in writing the scripts or editing the podcast anymore. Their whole company is full of friends and family instead of actual researchers, writers and editors. I’ve never seen a podcast that has so much random input from producers too Episodes will just have random memes, videos and they’ll make jokes that feel insensitive. The episode on the IRA had a gif of a car bomb going off and their editor left a distasteful comment in the video about the British not owning guns saying “maybe they don’t like losing or something idk”. People were rightfully upset but they refused to address it Kendall said that “N*zi’s were low key woke” in an earlier episode and both her and Josh awkwardly bicker a lot, no it’s not banter it’s bickering about pointless things. She acts condescending towards him. She and Janelle both love to gang up on him and bully him (I get mean girl vibes from the two of them anyways) Kendall and Janelle start making fun of a woman’s looks in a recent episode. Very unnecessary A lot of the scripts for their episodes are ripped straight from documentaries, Wikipedia, 2020 and Dateline episodes, the Lauren Spier case is identical to the subreddit’s write up on her case I can’t get over that horribly made documentary on Jessica Easterly. Nothing made sense, you didn’t know anything on her case or what was going on. Most people in the comments were saying they couldn’t even make it a half hour in. If there wasn’t much information then why make a full documentary? They have dark weeks and constantly go on vacation but won’t say anything until the day of (if at all). One time they left their dog who was recovering from surgery to go on vacation. Then Kendall will just randomly not show up for filming, there’s always an excuse. She doesn’t care anymore I think they need to cut back on the amount of episodes they do or just eliminate a show, their hearts don’t seem to be in it anymore I find it interesting that their and Kendall’s Instagram comments are set to “followers only” they just want to stay in their echo chamber of positive comments and being surrounded by yes men. From a business standpoint it’s just bad I’ve noticed they’ll attribute a very clear mental health breakdown, disappearance or homicide to aliens or the paranormal. They’ll say “oh the family doesn’t think it’s a mental health episode” yeah it makes sense they don’t want to face that reality. A lot of times mental health episodes come out of nowhere and start in adulthood It feels gross and disrespectful to immediately go “it was aliens” or try to make some random thing up I find it interesting how the shows under the MHP umbrella have been on a decline for years except for Lights Out which has just gotten better. Amazing what can happen when you actually care about the podcast that you’re producing Edit: they should’ve paid their discord mods and admins, or at the very least showed up in their discord instead of making excuses on why they couldn’t pop in every few months. Can’t even be bothered to reply to the main admin’s emails JUSTICE FOR KARELLY!

Love the pod, but the constant ad breaks are making it impossible to listen. Get your money, but it’s going a little overboard with ads every few minutes. Crazy that there are so many comments about this, but they never address it. They clearly don’t care.

I’ve been listening to mile higher for 7+ years and love it! Love the conversational style of the show, if I just wanted the facts with no commentary or conversation I’d just read the news. MOST IMPORTANTLY love that they’re always respectful of crime victims, because some other true crime shows seem really exploitative and make light of what real people have gone through. Also appreciate the tolerance and respect for differing opinions/beliefs, and the chill laidback vibes of the whole show. I do wish they’d put more ads together rather than spacing them out like they’ve been doing lately, but whatever. Podcasts ads are at the bottom of my list of things to be upset about. Gotta support themselves and staff. The show has more than enough redeeming factors to make up for how the ads are spaced.

I lose interest and can’t follow along with all the talking and ads. I want to keep listening because I’ve been listening since the start. Josh is trying to one up Ian at this point I think he’s jealous of him.

I don’t comment but I am cause I hope you heed the comment saying YALL TALK TOO MUCH about everything but the case. Yall spend 30 mins doing what I assume to be “setting up the story” when in reality Yall are talking all around the topic. Only to finally get to the point and a damn AD pops up that then wants to play for 10 min only for yall to get off topic about a pointless note in the case. Honestly at this point idc if yall fix it because I’m out but if you care at all about the product you’re producing do better.

They talk about interesting subject, but spend so much of the time talking about themselves. I find myself fast forwarding a ton and yelling “get back on topic”. This is probably my last listen. I hope they get better about staying on topic.

The ads and talking are getting crazy, y’all! I feel like I’m skipping over ads more than paying attention to the story. Also, you guys talk waaay too much about things other than the story. I literally skipped to another podcast, came back to give it another try, went back because it got boring, then came back and finally gave up. Also, the show is turning more into a conversation among colleagues than into a discussion of true crime or conspiracy theories. I’m done!

Literally have been following Kendall Rae’s content since I was in high school which was back in 2017. I am now 28 years old and I can’t believe I keep up with their videos religiously. Definitely one of my favorite podcasts and Youtubers. The narrating, research, and analysis they do is really good. I feel part of their family LOL. congrats kendall on baby #2. Wishing you a speedy recovery and can’t wait for the new content this year.

I used to really enjoy KR and the Mile Higher podcast, but they’ve changed - like everyone else. For someone who claims to be so positive and protective of innocent people, they are sure okay saying things that are divisive and hateful. They make passive little comments, they go off on tangents and, just like 99% of media they make sure to get their politically motivated comments in there as well. The hateful comments don’t go unnoticed and I find it gross, especially from people who pretend to have such an inclusive space. They push their political and social ideologies with comments like “too many white people here in Colorado” even though they all appear to be white and… living in Colorado. Make it make sense.. it’s the fatigue for me. I wish all media would stop virtue signaling and stop excluding entire groups with their language.

Honestly, both the hosts stop the natural flow of the show too often to go on rants and banter about minor parts of the cases, we get, moms need a support group, I don’t need to hear two minutes of how moms struggle and how the community is super helpful, just COVER THE CASE! I honestly couldn’t even finish the episode because I found myself saying ‘oh my god, just get to the case!’ Hard pass.

30 minutes in and the story hasn’t even started. I just can’t.

I used to love this podcast. I listened to every episode, more than once. However, lately they seem to not take the cases seriously. Josh is constantly laughing as he tells the stories, stories that have ruined people’s lives. Both him and Kendall have always been ditzy but I feel like it’s gotten worse. The only saving grace for this show is Ian.

I know the Erin Patterson case was serious but the banter over Josh’s food poisoning. I laughed so hard. Love the podcast and chemistry.

I love all of the Mile Higher shows. Top notch.

I used to really like this show but I’ve been noticing more and more disdain towards Christian beliefs and wide generalizations towards Christian’s. Specifically from Kendall. Josh at least will say not all Christian’s….Ian and Janelle have nice commentary

To the point. I lost interest ten minutes in and if you you want to step off topic fine, fun. More than a minute or two is annoying.

I have listen to this podcast from day one but I feel like it’s starting to go downhill. Kendall and Janelle seemed to just gang up on Josh whenever they see fit. And if you don’t agree with them on something, you’re automatically wrong Or your opinion doesn’t even matter. It podcast has a potential to be an amazing podcast lights out is doing great. I love that one there is more I would like to say, but I have a feeling that they don’t really look at their reviews anymore but I figured I would write this anyway.

Gripping (mostly American) true crime stories told in a respectful way. Good banter and group dynamics. Fun, silly episodes sometimes. Soothing voices to boot :)

I truly loved this podcast. I love Kendall. I love Josh. I just wish there could be a way to get them to understand that we just wanna listen to whatever case or subject matter they’re presenting us. It usually takes 15 to 20 minutes of them talking about absolutely nothing and then jumping off Subject and jumping back in subject and it gets really frustrating. Her true crime podcasts gets straight to the point and stays there. I usually listen to this one when I’m driving to work and some days I arrive to work and still haven’t heard a single tidbit of what the case is about because they are talking about what they did over the weekend 🥲 If you guys read these reviews, please, please listen to us! Updated: my low rating still stands. I wanted to badly to deep dive into the real house wives of Salt Lake so I came back to this show. Unfortunately they did meaningless banter for THIRTY FOUR MINUTES before actually starting the show. I used to love this show so much! Please please please cut the banter that and get to the freaking point! 😭 having to wait a half hour is absolutely absurd!

I have liked this show for awhile. They take the right parts of cases seriously and are still light hearted. The last episode on Mary Cosby made me question them tho. Niche, but i love the housewives and therefore know a LOT about the lore. There was a lot that was incorrect or not very insightful about the story tho, and exposed some pretty big gaps in the discussion. Making me wonder if this was happening every episode but I just didnt have the background to know. Still like them, but taking with a grain of salt.

Love you guys! I say this with love as I’ve been a fan since 2015 of Kendall. I’d love if we went back to more trippy talk and theories episodes. I feel so much has been true crime focused lately.

I’ve listened to this podcast for years but as of late I find it impossible to listen anymore as the constant ads are too disruptive. Easier to find other podcasts. Also the Janelle and Ian addition is annoying.

I appreciate the topics and the amount of research that goes into the episodes, I’m thinking of the Antarctica episode as an example. I enjoy Ian as an additional voice and the fact that so many Republican snowflakes are leaving negative reviews in the comments because they can’t handle differing opinions means you must be doing something right.

This podcast used to be interesting, now it’s 2 dudes with monotone voices talking to each other. Like Scuttle said “it was very boring”. Even when the wife joins she sounds just as annoyed. Not enjoyable, lots of commercials.

I’m from Durham, where the Michael Peterson case happened, and I believe he’s guilty. I also served on a jury panel years ago when he was a prosecutor, before his wife Kathleen’s case. I really enjoy your podcasts—Kendall, I’ve followed yours for a long time, and I’m newer to the joint podcast with Josh. Keep up the great content. You’re both appreciated.

I remember when they first made this podcast and I’ve always enjoyed it. I appreciate hearing opinions different than mine but it’s gotten to the point it’s hard listening to Kendall bash on republicans so hard. It seems like it’s just gotten more liberal through the years and I can’t listen anymore when there’s more reasonable people to listen to.

I love this podcast. I have been listening since the beginning of the year and I really enjoy how the victims are talked about and more humanized than some other shows. Kendall and Josh seem like amazing people and I love getting to support them and all the good things they are doing! I love that you guys stand for human rights and are not afraid to show it despite some of the reviews being upset about it. It needs to be talked about. I really enjoy Ian and Janelle as well.

I enjoyed my first episode it was great. However my second episode I listened to. I couldn’t wait to hear the story but instead it was so much banter and their opinions. I was waiting for the episode to start but it was just a bunch of talking for literally the first 5 minutes or so and nothing even interesting they were trying to be funny but it wasn’t. And thus my 3 star rating. Updated review I had listened to a 3rd episode about Halloween it was so cringe. They spent 15 minutes talking and then the “actual” story was absolutely uninteresting. And then talking negatively about people who don’t celebrate Halloween. Like who cares people can choose whatever they want just get to the case. I agree with other reviewers these hosts spend more time bantering than they do the actual case. I wouldn’t mind the banter as I really enjoy MFM’s banter. But these people aren’t funny they drop profanities as a filler for their boring banter and content. Hoping to hear a better episode from them as I seen that they can do that.

I’ve been listening to this podcast for quite some time now. I don’t mind the stories that are being told. I find the facts and some theories interesting. I find it annoying when the group brings out there political views. We get it, you’re liberals who hate conservative ideas. Please stop bashing individuals you may not see eye to eye with.

I want to like this podcast, ive only listened to a couple episodes - but the commercials are out of control. In episode 362 there are literally 2 minutes of content in between commercials - I’m not joking, check minute 40 and minute 42. There were plenty previously in the episode as well. It’s enough to make me stop listening.

They are always good at story telling and having opposing opinions on things but coming to the end conclusion together

Not sure why there’s so many negative reviews with the two new additions or maybe I’m just magically picking the episodes without it but seems fine to me..

Started listening when it first came out. Love the things they talk about on the podcast- not as much the true crime. Of course the dynamic has changed since new people have come on, like Janelle and Ian but it’s not a bad thing! I enjoy listening to Kendall and Janelle picking on Josh- it doesn’t seem hateful. It just seems they’re having a good time with people that they know instead of overly professional like on other podcasts.
